Plenty of vendors ask you to order through their whatsapp number. If that was not already obvious, be aware it is nowhere near as private as the marketing suggests.
I am not sure whether posting a link to the Reuters piece is allowed, but it ran a week ago. According to the reporting, the Texas Attorney General’s Office took WhatsApp and its parent company Meta to court, claiming that consumers were misled about the strength and the scope of WhatsApp's encryption measures; a Meta spokesman pushed back on that. The filing ... claims that although users are assured their WhatsApp messages are encrypted, the company can reach “virtually all” of the private communications sent through the messaging app.
