What's your current stockpile in the freezer?

Right now, I've got a single complete Reta kit. My approach is to shed the pounds I'm aiming to lose, then stay on a maintenance dose pretty much indefinitely. Curious what kind of quantities other folks are storing up?

I figure the amount I can sensibly stock will come down to how long it stays stable before breaking down. Is there any reliable data on that yet?

Bottom line, I've put away way more than I ever intended...

Just speaking for me: while you're dropping weight, a 3 year stash turns into a 5 year stash once you hit maintenance. But the moment you decide to pop a pepper, you're permanently pickled. After that, you turn into a "collector" of rare items and pelts.

Could you clarify what a full kit consists of?

From a vendor on this board, I placed an order for a single kit containing 10 vials, each with 50 mg of Retatrutide - shipping is expected to begin on February 28, once Chinese New Year has passed.

At my present dose of just 2 mg/week (this morning was my first 2 mg injection, following 2 weeks at 1 mg/week), that works out to 250 weeks of peptide. 🙂 I'm not sure what my final dose will be, but it seems like I won't need to restock for quite some time.

My stash isn't huge, though I'd like it to be — money is the only thing holding me back at the moment. At the moment there's 1 kit of reta sitting in the freezer, with 2 additional ones and 2 klow kits on the way. Once I can swing it financially, I'd like to place an order each month until I've built up a dragon-level hoard of everything.

For such a small dose, that kit is huge! I’d never keep a vial going past 25 weeks (even with my high risk tolerance, 8–12 weeks is my cutoff). Reta doesn’t hold up well when frozen (Tirz is different), so if you’re hoping vials will stay good for even part of that stretch, your best bet is to filter and reconstitute into several sterile carts (or vials). That way, after mixing, you’ll only puncture one vial 10–15 times and can keep the others cold and away from light.

You’ve got plenty! It was inexpensive. If anything seems even slightly wrong, throw it out. Sorry to be a downer. Check out a recon calculator such as btpepcalc in my tagline below.

There’s no rush. If it’s coming from China, you probably won’t have it before mid March. Research what you need to order sterile carts, syringes, and filters, and how to use them. Vendors are listed here, and there are videos showing the process. Best of luck!

Appreciate the advice! Right now I've got just 6 mg of mixed Reta remaining, so my hope was that the large order would arrive before it's gone in three weeks.

That said, I doubt I'll remain at 2 mg. If that does end up being my dose, though, I may need to split it into separate reconstituted batches the way you described.

One possible snag: once you reconstitute, you're working with a 2 month freshness window. At your 2mg dose, or even if you double it to 4 mg weekly, that works out to 12.5 weeks from a single sterile reconstituted vial.....far too long in reconstituted form. That's chiefly why it makes sense to begin with smaller vials, at least early on

I'm curious—what source are you getting the freezing response details from?

From what I've come across, tirz has a reputation for holding up well under freezing, but that doesn't automatically mean reta behaves the same way. I wasn't aware that reta was considered to do badly in that area (as opposed to just being unknown).

I'm curious too — from what I gather, the real enemies are freeze-thaw cycles and moisture. My approach is to keep everything inside insulated containers in the freezer.

Every modern freezer comes with that handy "frost free" function, but here's the thing: nothing magical is actually going on. "Frost free" just means the freezer periodically warms up to melt away the frost.... neat feature, but it's bad news for peptides or honestly for any food you want to store long term.

Some freezers are manual defrost models, and those are the ones you want for keeping things fresh longer.... or, like me, you try to dodge the thaw cycle in a modern freezer by using insulated containers

Several testing groups run degradation studies. I'm not sure whether STG is accepting new members again right now, but it's among the simplest ones to join.

Through prolonged refrigeration and after reconstitution re-freezing (even several cycles), Tirz seems relatively stable, with roughly ~10% loss. Reta breaks down more quickly and really doesn't tolerate re-freezing. To me, 10% is about the margin of error in testing and dosing, so I consider it acceptable. Once degradation reaches the 20-30% range, you run the risk of dosing higher to make up for it and then overshooting on a fresh vial. I always treat a newly reconstituted vial as "hot". I simply figure the first shot is 10-20% or more concentrated than whatever I used for the last shot of the previous vial.

If it's still in powder form — puck intact, no dampness inside, vacuum still holding — my own take is that a freezer keeps it viable for years. With Tirz, room temperature might not ruin it for years either?!? (I wouldn't count on that, though). As long as it remains freeze dried, a freezer defrost cycle is nothing to stress over; simply store it away from light and in a cool spot.

Putting your BAC in the freezer? Not advisable. That said, if it happened by mistake, I'd likely still use it (because I'm both frugal and a bit reckless). Wishing you the best on your journey!

When kept at a consistent ~0ºF, which is what most freezers run at, the general belief is that it stays good more or less forever.

As for me, I've got "enough" to cover "a while". My expectation right now is that cutting weight wraps up in ~6-7 months, and I figure my maintenance dose will come out to half of what my peak dose was.

I'm at peace with the fact that once I stop the medication, weight will come back, and taking the medication barely bothers me at all. I keep a reliable stock of whatever I need so that my ability to manage my weight never slips. Even further, I've built up a fair amount of Sema, Tirz, and Cagri. I might never use them, but I can't use what I don't have sitting there.

It's simple to end up with more than could realistically ever get used, and past a certain point, accumulating supply stops being purposeful or productive.

Right now I've got 1 kit of reta10 plus 1 kit of bpc157 sitting in there. Haven't cracked either one open yet, and I'm still going back and forth on whether the 157 is even worth using. It was a spur-of-the-moment purchase.

The fact that the results are kept "proprietary" to some extent is curious. Thinking about how such results would be generated, my assumption is that the lab would need to carry out the entire experiment according to your specifications. The reason I say that is because if I were to perform those tests myself and then send samples in by mail, I wouldn't feel I had sufficient control over the conditions during transit to be sure that freezing was the sole variable. And if you persuaded Janoshik (just as an example) to run a custom test of this kind for you, it seems more like something he would have been personally curious about and wanted to try, rather than a paid job he'd take on, given that he must already be making plenty of money as the gold standard in our fast-growing hobby. Though I could be mistaken about that last point.

Naturally, I'm not asking you to disclose private results, but could you (or anyone else) offer any general observations or best practices on this? I have a few ideas I might derive from a chemistry background, but guesses don't carry much weight here. Another idea I had was whether someone might pseudo-reconstitute a peptide using the smallest quantity of solvent they could manage, as a possible workaround. For instance, I'm not sure propylene glycol would be optimal, but it is an example of a solvent that stays liquid in any typical freezer. The idea would be to use only enough solvent to dissolve the solids (so it could be split among vials). Then, when someone was ready to reconstitute the next vial in the batch, they could add more BAC water to reach the target concentration and refrigerate from that point. A scheme like that would prevent any phase changes (if that turns out to be the most harmful part of refreezing something that has already been reconstituted).

TRIZ holding up in the fridge for that stretch is news to me ...so blocking light is all triz needs, then. Even so, for months or maybe years of doors opening and closing, I'd probably still put it in something insulated against temperature swings.

On the storage question, this may come off as overkill, but I dislike revisiting a decision, so my preference is to set things up once in the best possible conditions for freshness and then leave it alone until the moment it gets used, no matter when that is.

Freeze dried isn't guaranteed to be as flawless as people assume either, since my baseline assumption is zero moisture in an ideal scenario plus a container with no defects, while temperature cycling affects every organic material, and so do vibrations accumulating over time (compressor cycling) along with doors being opened and closed across a year.

For long-term vibration damping I'm a fan of the silicon holders, and for temperature fluctuation the hydrapeak insulated containers, which feels simple and keeps things steady

Likely far more than necessary, but out of sight out of mind, plus fast labeling and then tucked away until it's needed.

might sound neurotic, but i've learned steaks hold up far better and much longer in a manual defrost fridge, thanks to the temperature cycling

Frost-free freezers rely on a fan to push cold air around, plus a heating element that kicks in on a schedule—usually every 6-8 hours—to thaw frost off the evaporator coils. That meltwater gets drained out, and once a sensor sees the coils are frost-free, cooling starts up again, so you never have to defrost by hand.
