What tipped the scale for you in your decision to stack your GLP with another or add in an amylin?

I have been in maintenance for 6 months now on 7.5mg of tirz. One side-effect has stuck around and it is maddening: one eye, and only the right one, dries out EXTREMELY badly. Dropping the tirz to 6mg did settle the eye, but at that level I did not feel adequately covered for maintenance, so I went back to 7.5mg.

I have recently added cagri and reduced the tirz alongside it, hoping to get rid of that damnable dry eye. It has only been 2 weeks and I am adjusting the 2 very slowly, so whether it helps is still an open question.
Curious what Cag dose you brought in - and whether any sides showed up?
Week one was 0.25mg, then 0.375mg in week two. Nothing in the way of side effects at those low doses so far. What I have noticed is that appetite suppression builds at roughly 48 hours after a shot. Since I take it 3 days out from my tirz dose, that lift is clearly not coming from the tirz.

I had been maintaining on 12mg of reta, but once I started a steroid cycle that stopped holding and I had a lot of days where my calorie intake ran grossly past my target. I was putting on weight I did not want to put on - the plan had been to bring it down slowly and that was not happening. So I pushed my reta dose up to 24mg. That worked well enough to counter the steroids and hold my weight, but getting it to move downward stayed beyond me despite my best efforts. After a couple of months like that - not bad, just not ideal - I brought the reta back down to 12mg and threw in an ancillary I thought would help. That has been more successful so far, and I have been able to cut weight since making the change.

I have been on 2.5mg of reta twice a week for a couple of months now. The food noise disappeared from the start and 40 lbs came off quickly. Lately, though, it has been creeping back - thankfully only for protein-rich foods - but I am wary that these returning hunger pangs are the top of a slippery slope back into chocolate, chips, fries, cookies and ice cream. So some tirz is on the way, and I will fold it into the protocol slowly and quietly to see what it does to the cravings. I am also 10 weeks in (as of today) on a daily 2.0 mgs of Tesa, which I hoped would speed up the disappearance of visceral fat, though the results have not been dramatic.
Is visceral fat actually something you can see? I had always understood it sits tucked away around our organs where it cannot be seen - a pouchy belly is something else, isn't it?

Hi everyone 🙂

I am getting close to a point where I have to pick a direction. There are several good ones open to me, and what I really want is to understand the thinking behind your choice.

If you were sitting on a sub-max dose of your GLP-1 and decided to bring in a second GLP or an Amylin rather than titrating upward, what led you there? Which factors did you weigh before committing?

(I ran a search first - apologies if this has already been asked 😢)
Calling it a "choice" is generous - it was mostly irrational. I go on feel, on intuition, rather than on any kind of reasoning.

Since December I have been on a low tirz dose (1 - 1.5). When things stalled I could not tell you why, but rather than push the tirz higher I added reta in slowly. It helped.

There have been weeks where I skipped the tirz entirely. Today, 19 days out from my previous shot, I took 2mg of tirz plus 2.5mg of reta - which was everything left in the vial.

I am not losing at the moment, most likely because I am not eating enough. Having spent a lifetime trying to eat less, I now find I simply cannot eat unless I actually feel hungry. It is a problem : /

I ran 2mg/day of Tesamorelin alongside 4-5mg/wk of Retatrutide for belly reduction, and it did the job. My Tesa is now finished, and unless the 6mg/wk of Reta I am on cannot hold the belly down, I am done with it.

My situation may be unusual because of the high dose prednisone and Hydrocortisone I take for disease management. Pred and Hydro, being corticosteroids of the same family, are well documented as direct causes of weight gain, a large belly and moon face - much as Addison's disease does.
Did you notice any problems mixing those two?

No, we cannot see it lol. It lives deep in there wrapped around the organs, causing trouble like an ex who refuses to leave. The stuff you can grab and pinch is subcutaneous fat lol

I use an Amazon scale, weigh in every day, and it builds a pile of graphs that I look at and mull over on my phone. I am still losing and roughly 30 pounds out from my goal weight. Those graphs put my visceral fat inside the normal range. On subcutaneous fat, I still have work to do.

If you ask me, that comes down to my weekly 4mg shot of Reta. I have nothing factual behind that belief, but it is what I think.

This weekend I put 2mg of Reta into the mix. I had been on a 10mg Tirz dose split 5/5 across the week...I am near goal weight and wanted to see what some reta would do for me. The things I expect to gain are less appetite suppression and the fat burning 3rd component...we will see whether I can flip my dosing from Tirz heavy to Reta heavy...

Also, I had a pile of Reta sitting there and wanted to play with it... 😎 👍
Interesting! Did you see any rise in resting heart rate, or notice anything else worth mentioning, off that 2mg?
Nothing so far... if anything my RHR and BP came in slightly below where they normally sit. The only new sensations were a bit more burping and a faint feeling in my throat, close to acid reflux but without any actual reflux - if that makes any sense...
This stuff is odd. I checked my HR and BP this morning: HR came in at 73, though it will probably climb to 80 once I start moving around, and BP was 128/78.

Still within normal limits though, and I would rather not burn through every lever I have this early. At the same time I get nervous about arriving at my top Tirz dose too soon! 🤣

Yep, how visible it is depends on how much of it we are carrying. The subcutaneous kind is what you can pinch between your fingers - belly, love handles, butt, and so on. Visceral fat is the hard, protruding belly that people with too much of it develop, though someone can look slim and still be carrying plenty. In my own case the subq layer came off fast, leaving sagging skin behind, and I still have that damn belly. My smart scale insists I am carrying an unacceptable amount of visceral fat... meanwhile my AI buddy Copilot says not to put much faith in a smart scale, since it is not actually smart enough to measure visceral fat accurately. So the only real evidence I have of an unacceptable level is what I see in the mirror!
