Wanna change networks PYUSD(Eth)>PYUSD(Sol) Can’t figure it out! (NY rules)

I’ve made exactly 1 crypto payment so far: MoonPay via my Exodus wallet, buying BTC. Easy process, but the fees hit hard, and because BTC swings so much I wound up paying my reseller $0.06 USD short (thankfully they didn’t mind.) After learning about stable coins, I’m trying to go that route, but I’m completely stuck. I’m in NY now and have a NY ID, and this state’s crypto regulations are a pain. My trading options are extremely restricted (Robinhood and Exodus won’t let me trade). Coinbase is basically the only place I can use, and I can’t work out how to switch a coin’s network. Forgive any nonsense I say—I’m sure I’ll get tons of terms wrong!

A vendor I found accepts PYUSD(Sol) and BTC (which I’m avoiding, especially since it’s dropping quickly right now). On Coinbase, the only way I saw to get PYUSD was on the Ethereum network. I bought that there, then moved it to my Coinbase wallet—no problem. I also picked up a bit of ETH and SOL for “gas,” around $2-5 worth, just in case. But before I can send it to my Exodus wallet, it needs to be in the correct form (so to speak,) because the vendor asked for PYUSD(Sol), and NY’s ridiculous rules mean I can’t do any trades in Exodus.

From a great explanation I read here, I gather networks work like pneumatic tubes you use to send coins, and you pay a small “gas money” fee for each tube—but after hours of trying to sort this out, I’m lost.

Whenever I look it up, all I find are guides for PYUSD(Eth)>SOL. Can anyone help me figure this out or recommend a good tutorial?

Option 1: send the PYUSD back to the exchange on the ETH network, and after that move it to your wallet again using the SOL network.

Option 2: try a service such as https;//jumper.xyz — it integrates with Exodus for swaps and similar operations.

Sorry you're dealing with NYS bitlicense hoops.

I've been out of the crypto game for a bit (just sitting on my stash). Still, my understanding is that what you're after is called a "swap," not a "trade," and it's essentially peer-to-peer. From what I recall, it happens on a DEX (decentralized exchange) through a dApp (decentralized application). The one I've used is Jupiter, which is tucked away inside Exodus Wallet. At least that's true for wallets set up before Date X — mine was. Wallets made more recently may need you to connect an outside DEX.

If you haven't gone through @peptideusername 's guide (attachment) at /community-link/thread/7099/ , you should.

ibit.ly/cdz6M offers some NYS clarification (AI, so be cautious) about swap vs trade

ibit.ly/Os41N covers Jupiter + Exodus wallet. Just note there's apparently a cryptocurrency named Jupiter, which isn't the one you're after.

After merely pondering crypto, what I crave is a potent tablet — and not the electronic sort.

Thanks for laying it all out like that, and for breaking down what those acronyms mean! I went and found the post you mentioned, gave it a bookmark. Appreciate the time and the patience.

Tomorrow's agenda includes the AI page you linked, because YES I WANT ALL THE TABLETS NOW! Had tirz not killed my craving for beer, those five beers sitting in my fridge would already be gone!!

Peptides are fun to learn about, crypto is way less fun. Gotta learn it anyway for this space, so Imma do it, but arggghhhhh. You guys make it much better though 🙂
