Maybe this isn't news. But just read a news article where US DOJ seized Telegram channels. I know they seize Internet Domains on a regular basis, but Telegram channels are a new one for me.

This article is about serious organized crime with cyber fraud, human trafficking, and money laundering. Looks like the same levers could be pulled if they wanted to dismantle the grey market, especially since the alphabet agencies likely have visibility on gb/vendor/finisher/manufacturer relationships.

The DOJ is the umbrella agency over many of the Fed LE agencies...FBI, ATF, DEA...
 
Tg's channels aren't encrypted end to end, Tg still has access to the channels' chats on their servers. Similar to D*scord.

WA is encrypted end to end...even during criminal investigations and trials law enforcement cannot get Meta (aka F*cebook) to give up WA chats bc Meta doesn't have access to that. LE can only access ur WA chats if they have physical access to your device and unlock it etc.

The bigger headline is they were able to seize crypto assets? How?

Ususally they either get the keys stored in plaintext on a phone or computer, or they managed to get someone to divulge the keys or give access to them.

It is rare that law enforcement hits people who are competent enough to keep their data secure post arrest.
 
For clarification No direct mention of Human Trafficking in the article. As for seizing TG channels yes it can happen but i think a peptide seller is small potatoes. They may have had the app on their phone and access can be done with Bio

I would assume if they could see transactions in a wallet on a phone, they might use that for further warrants/seizures

They also may have done controlled buys linking the wallet to the seller during the investigations.

Another reason to never use corporate servers. We see how the peptide community in the states is being tracked. Place privacy at the top, I guarantee in 36 months it's not going to improve.
