Hello everyone, I figured I'd post a quick introduction since I've only just discovered Reta.

From Sept 24 through June 25 I was on Tirz. My dose was 15mg, and I dropped roughly 15kg. Two things made me stop: the price, since I was getting it from a pharmacy, and the sense that it had quit working for me. As you'd expect, I slipped back into my old habits, put every kilo back on, and then some.

Given that, is 2mg/week the right dose to begin Reta with? I'm at 107kg right now.

Thanks

Hey bighead. It's rough that you've been bouncing up and down like that.

My own first dose was 0.5mg, though I should mention I'd had zero prior exposure to any GLP1-RA.

Right now I split my weekly amount across 2 injections: 1.5mg on Monday, then 2.0mg on Thursday.

There's a conversation going on about weight coming back after stopping — it's in this linked thread. Might be worth dropping in and telling them what happened in your case.

The dose most people begin with is 2mg. To avoid any severe reaction, I began on 1mg. There was nothing at all in response, so 1.5mg was my dose the following week. Since I was on the move somewhat, I held at 1.5mg for 3-4 weeks, after which I moved to 2mg across roughly 6 weeks. As of today, I injected 3mg.

Also wondering about this. From what I can tell, there isn't a solid set of rules for moving off Tirz and onto Reta. You see vague references to a general 2 week "wash-out" gap before beginning a different GLP-1, but has any kind of agreed best practice actually been settled on? Say someone has been taking 10mg of Tirz for roughly 6 months — what should and shouldn't they do when making the switch? The worry is that the appetite comes roaring back.

I stayed with tirz since it was obvious reta would need a lengthy ramp-up phase, and I wasn't willing to risk regaining weight. Also, reta hasn't appeared to reduce food noise in my case (not so far, anyway), and adding another pep just for that wasn't something I wanted to do.

I began on 0.5mg each week, and after 1 month I've dropped 13 pounds. This week I moved up to 1.0mg, and it still feels okay — no side effects at all. The drop in food noise isn't 100%, more like 75%, but that's sufficient for me to get through the day without eating. About the only moment I go off my diet is when I'm out drinking with friends.

I'm unsure about dosing after having been on Tirz. A lot of people have raised this on reddit and tiktok, but no general consensus seems to exist yet.

Appreciate the reply. That's something I've come across too — when it comes to suppressing appetite, reta doesn't hit as hard. The way I've heard it explained, though, that may not matter, since the glucagon release is powerful enough that the weight comes off anyway. How long did you stay on reta?
