I've had a doctor overseeing my trt for several years at this point. My levels stay steady and I'm familiar with how the test affects me.

I've got 2 sources that are quite reliable, and their stuff always comes back testing well. Paying my trt guy every month just doesn't seem necessary anymore.

I've flown within the country many times and TSA has never once questioned my test, peps or syringes.

Is there anything negative about this that I'm overlooking?

With a goodrx coupon, my pharma t-cyp runs roughly $40 for 10 mL/2000mg. Add in my dr copay 5 times a year plus blood work, and the total ends up pretty damn affordable. Unless youre overpaying for a clinic, I dont see a reason to go ugl for trt. No ridiculous fees for me since my Dr is my PCP.

Is the dr prescribing yours your PCP, or are they at a wellness/anti-aging clinic?

No — the testosterone prescription doesn't come from my primary. It's a separate clinic handling that. They charge a monthly fee on top of what the medication costs.

Nuform runs about $775/year, and that amount covers roughly 15 months' worth for me.

As long as the legal aspect doesn't bother you, there's no reason for the other stuff to bother you either.

Getting a direct care physician/concierge doctor is one of my goals, and having them rx the TRT would offset part of the cost. That route should let me save ~$500/year.

My path through UGL Test has been pure trial and error. A full kit went in the trash, along with several singles. WWB. The pips were unbearable. At last I came across a genuine MCT oil that gives zero pip, exactly like Pharma. $22 a vial for 250mg/10mL. TRT Nation was my previous provider, and then I moved to Talon Wellness. Because Talon is far cheaper, I'll keep an open script with them, but my new UGL source has finally come through.

Hey everyone, this thread is worth keeping around, so let's do that.

Share the pros and cons, but no UGL sourcing of any kind.

That price sounds solid. My setup runs 1200, plus 250 more each year for test, and 400 more for bloodwork.

Do they include bloodwork in that plan as well?

How do ISRs factor in? Or does the filtering process make things equal?

The product I have access to comes from a few UGLs, and each one has been operating for over 10 years. Their reputations are solid, the raws get tested, the finished product is filtered and tested, and there's independent testing as well. For the oils, it's either MCT or GSO.

There's no ISR, and it feels identical to what I get from the compound pharmacy.

My stance falls into the camp that says: if locating the source on your own isn't something you can manage, this probably isn't for you.

We can still talk it through openly, as long as we don't step over that line.

For me, price is honestly the main thing pushing me in this direction, and that's only the "admin" fee the clinic charges.

The funny part is that UGL test c runs 30 to 40 bucks for 12ml at 250mg per ml. That's roughly what the compounding pharmacy charges me.

That being said, the clinic I go to here in Florida has been excellent. Service is very personalized. They treat until symptoms resolve. I've picked up a huge amount! At this point everything is dialed in, so it just feels like that level of engagement isn't worth paying for anymore.

That said, if you're a total beginner, I wouldn't try going it alone. You can fuck yourself up.

My own path began at a clinic, and eventually I landed a primary care doctor willing to write the prescription and order labs. That worked out well for me, though I recognize plenty of people aren't lucky enough to have a physician who is on board with TRT. The first endocrinologist I saw looked at my 200 ng/dL reading and called it in range — low end of it, sure — adding that a person doesn't require much testosterone to get by. He was an older guy, likely used to managing diabetics and hypothyroid patients. After him came a doctor pushing the topical route. This dragged on until I went through the clinic and finally ended up where I am now. Had things not unfolded that way, UGL would have been my only choice, so I understand the appeal.

There's a fairly solid deal available through @woundcarping, which suggests decent clinics do exist for anyone who'd rather not gamble on finding a supportive doctor. And if you do take that path, trustworthy UGLs aren't particularly difficult to locate.

When the concern is bacteria or other sterility problems, then sure, I'd say it can. As far as I know, oils are filtered at a different size — .22um PTFE. My own PIPs, I'm fairly sure, came from oil-based Ethyl Oleate that was being passed off as MCT oil. That kind of thing is pretty common in the Indian and Chinese markets. For some people, painful golf ball-sized lumps lasting days are manageable. For me, they aren't.
