Tirz vs Reta

Calling it significantly cheaper feels like a bit much. Bulk Tirz runs about $.20/mg for 1200mg, while Reta comes in near $.48/mg.

At the top doses that have been published from trials, that works out to only $2.76/week more, if you're stocking up to lock in the best rate. For me, $2.76/week is a fair trade to hold onto roughly 6-10lb of lean mass across an 80lb cut, since GCGR helps spare lean tissue and gives steadier energy for lifting.

Even if the scale lands on the same number either way, on Tirz I'd be carrying 6-10lb more fat at that weight than I would on Reta, plus all the time it would take to rebuild that lean fiber.

Anecdotal note on energy for sticking with training:

Day 1 on Reta (no prior meaningful exposure) my exercising walking heart rate averaged 114bpm, while the day before and the day after both averaged 115bmp.

18 days in, doing the same exercise with more incline and less perceived effort, my average heart rate over the last 3 days sits around ~130bmp, with reta at 6-9.2mg (Tirz tapering from 2.5mg down to ~1.7mg).

Tirz never gave me any trouble, and so far I have zero regrets about moving to reta.
Good point about the cost. I get that the gap isn't huge, but I probably made it sound bigger than it really is.

Reta is something I have no personal experience with. Mounjaro, on the other hand, worked incredibly well for me. Semaglutide produced zero results in my case, yet Mounjaro was a completely different story. It changed my life — no side effects, I felt like myself, and for the first time I had a sense of control.

From what I understand, Reta is supposed to be even more effective... So why not begin with Mounjaro and leave room to move up later? If you keep the dose increases modest, my guess is you could get around 18 months out of Mounjaro before making the switch to Reta

Hi everyone,

I'm just starting out on this path and have a question that I haven't come across in previous discussions.

I'm a woman in my late twenties. I work out at the gym consistently, but the extra weight I'm trying to shed just won't budge, which is why I've joined this community and started looking into GLPs.

My dilemma is whether reta or tirz is the right choice for me. The fast weight loss that comes with reta makes me a bit nervous about loose skin. Tirz appears to work more slowly, but does that also mean my results would be limited? I realize semaglutide is another possibility, though I want to hold onto some muscle.

For someone aiming to drop 10-15kg and planning to pair GLP use with a regular exercise routine, what would you recommend?

Apologies if the answer is obvious, I'd just really appreciate hearing some outside perspectives.

Thanks in advance
When I began, Tirzepatide was my choice simply because Retatrutide wasn't on my radar yet, and I ended up filling my freezer with a doomsday-level stockpile.lol…

If I were to do it over, my own 2 cents would be to begin with Tirzepatide. The reason is that, in my head, Tirzepatide carries FDA approval, and I figure that means better long-term safety, so I feel less worry even if something like heart burn comes up…
That is genuinely a strong observation. When it comes to having peace of mind, I am completely on the same page.
