Howdy everyone,

I'm a Texan who's been struggling with my weight for a good while now. Same as many others, I've cycled through pretty much every option out there over the years. A few of them gave me results for a short stretch, but keeping it off long term never happened. At this stage, I'm ready to pursue changes that actually last rather than jumping on whatever new shortcut comes along.

GLP-1s have come up a lot in what I've been reading, so I figured it was time to find a group where folks talk about what really happened for them — the ups and the downs alike. With so much info floating around, telling what's trustworthy isn't easy, which is why I want to hear from those with firsthand experience.

For the time being, my plan is to read, pick things up, and pitch in wherever I'm able. Glad to meet you all, and hopefully I'll make some headway as I go.

Honestly, the hardest part for me has been taking that initial step. I’ve done a lot of reading.

Being 285 at 5’9” and carrying this weight around just isn’t working for me anymore.

I climbed 5 flights of stairs and honestly felt like I was about to collapse.

Going from a combat veteran to the shape I’m in today is humiliating

Howdy, another Texan here! I’ve been part of this community for a few months now, and you’ll find plenty of useful information along with helpful folks who can offer feedback, answer questions, and more. Take in as much as possible across the forum, and don’t hesitate to ask if anything comes up.

There's no need to feel shame at this point. Making that initial move toward change is absolutely the most important part! Best of luck with your investigation and whatever comes next!

I appreciate it! I know I shouldn't feel that way, but what you said is true. I'm moving forward, and I hope everything turns out well!

Those stairs were your system crying out for help. You're answering that signal and putting in the effort to fix things. Here's hoping your rescue mission works out.
