Pairing testosterone with tirzepatide completely changed things for me. Roughly 3 years back, after being away from the gym for ages, something clicked and I got motivated to train again. At 5foot 9 I weighed 255 pounds, definitely carrying too much.

I committed to lifting 4 days per week. Strength crept up a bit, but nothing like the gains I remembered from my 20's and 30's. I asked my doctor to include a total T test in my bloodwork, and it came back around 260. For a year I kept training, figuring that number would climb on its own. After 12 months I retested and it had dropped to 150.

So I brought in a reputable TRT specialist and began 120mg of testosterone each week. My strength shot up almost right away, and my hunger came along with it. Next thing I knew, I was at 270 pounds, which was not a good place to be.

That's when I chose to try tirzepatide. I cleaned up my eating, stayed consistent with lifting, and over roughly 8 months I dropped 70 pounds while my strength kept increasing the entire time.

Every metric got better: cholesterol went from 220 down to 160, BP is normal, and all my biomarkers are in the green.

At 50 years old, I'm in the best shape I've ever been. Modern chemistry plus hard work really delivered.

If you're male or female and hitting a certain age, get your levels checked. Bringing things into the upper normal range has been life changing.

Please share your experiences, or if you have questions I'm happy to help.

Hello

Back in 2022, while I was residing in Florida, I began TRT, and I have kept up with it after moving to Spain. My hypogonadism was mild, and the dose I received was 200 mg/week.

At 48 years old now, I'm in one of the best physical conditions I've ever had, which I owe to TRT and Reta.

I began TRT roughly 3 years back, dosing 200mg weekly and dividing it across 2 injections. During the initial 2 months, TRT by itself took off 20lb. About 18 months ago I added Tirz, and combining the two has brought my total loss past 80lbs. For roughly 6 months now, my weight hasn't budged from 215. So I've signed up at a gym and started training in hopes of adding more muscle. Standing 6' 4", I'm 47, yet my body feels like it's 30 again.

I've run it up to 200mg weekly, pinning every other day. Currently I'm on 175mg per week. That dose wipes out all my symptoms, and I haven't had to use an AI. I'm fairly lean now, so I don't convert much into estradiol.

Off to lift some weights this afternoon!

Once your T levels are solid and you've dropped all that weight, the gym is going to be a blast — expect to notice changes before long.

Around July or August of last year, I began TRT with my PCP. When I told them that the 200mg every other week prescription has me feeling terrible by week 2, I wasn't happy with how my PCP responded. So I went with UGL test and now inject 250mg/week, divided between Monday and Thursday. Blood was drawn today, 48hrs after my most recent pin. I'm eager to find out my total, free test, and estradiol numbers. I continue to receive my prescribed testosterone, though right now I'm building up a stockpile of it for travel.

Seems like a smart moment to bring your labs and script to an online provider so you can get bumped up to a prescribed 200mg/week — or higher.

From what I recall reading, they add roughly $7.50/week for the 250 or 300mg/ml options.

Absolutely!!! Count me in as very interested. I'm 51 years old, and I recently requested that my doctor order a full panel of labs and bloodwork, testosterone included. When she mentioned not being sure about the copay for a testosterone test, I told her the cost wasn't a concern. Her recommendation was to do the blood draw in the morning so the reading would be as accurate as possible, since she said levels apparently rise and fall over the course of the day?

Right now I exercise and lift weights 5 days a week at work, my muscle feels hard as rocks, but it isn't getting bigger or growing. It would be nice to be a bit bulkier and more defined, I've lost 100 and still have 40 to go.

So anyway, that appointment was last wednesday, and I received a ton of results back from the blood work and urine. Everything came back good except for elevated ferritin... but I haven't seen anything yet regarding testosterone, does it show up under a different name on the blood test or is that it? Is it difficult to test for and that's why it's taking so long, or maybe she didn't include it in the tests?

I'm not sure. My actual question is where do you inject that?

Testosterone levels peak earlier in the day and drop as the day goes on. Getting TRT prescribed by your PCP? Good luck lol, so I'd avoid morning testing.

The lab panel will list total and free testosterone plus E2. If you'd rather order it yourself, Goodlabs is an option, and you can PM me for a 20% off code.

Injection can be done IM or SubQ.

Since exogenous test shuts down your own production, wouldn't the timing within the day be less important than keeping the draw at a consistent spot in the injection cycle—usually right before the next shot is due?

As far as getting a prescription goes, I don't mind having my PCP handle it. My test cyp prescription runs $14 for 10ml at 200mg/ml. The UGL test I use is 250mg/ml, and a 10ml vial costs $35. Spending $175 on UGL gets me a full year's supply.

Before anything else, I want to find out whether Peter MD will work with my insurance. Should that not pan out, PeterMD's yearly option at $79/month is likely where I'd land.

Most of my lab results arrived today. DHT is the one still outstanding. As for the rest, my modest 120mg/week dose puts free at 23pg/ml, E at 26pg/ml, and SHGB at 18.6nmol/L.

Throw in GH plus 5mg of Cialis every day — you'll turn into Superman 😉

What number did your total come in at? Given how low your e is, I can't think of a reason you shouldn't raise your dose — assuming every other marker looks fine and you actually want to. On the dose I'm running now, I'm figuring my total lands above 1000. The bloodwork will be the judge though.

Going supraphysiological with test is ultimately a YOLO approach. There's no realistic way to screen and scan every effect it has. Hematocrit sitting at the high end of normal isn't great either. And there's a reason women outlive men.

Based on the research that's out there (the HAARLEM study being one example), cardiac function takes a hit, at least for a while. Prostate enlargement is going to happen sooner or later, particularly if HGH is in the mix. Plus kidneys (nephrotoxicity), tendon injury, and so on.

I'm not sure. My actual question is where do you inject that?

My injection sites have included subcutaneous shots in the stomach and upper outer thighs, plus intramuscular shots in the delts and ventral glutes. These days I go with IM in the ventral glutes, and I inject on an every-other-day schedule.

Cialis works well for me — 5mg daily is my routine. HGH is something I haven't experimented with so far, though I plan to at some point.

This is exactly the kind of discussion I was hoping this thread would produce. Guys should be more willing to talk about this openly. It really can improve your life in a meaningful way, and that deserves to be shared.

We don't have to just sit back and let ourselves become old and weak. The amount of good years we get can be stretched out. Diet done right, training, hormones, supplements and putting in the effort — that combination changes everything.

I don't want to sound like that guy who quit drinking and won't shut up about it, but giving up alcohol 6 years ago was likely the single best thing I've ever done for my health. Other than quitting cigarettes at 24.

38-year-old guy here — Trt began just 3 weeks back. My numbers were low 300, free sitting in the 30s. Constantly exhausted, brain fog, no motivation, tough to gain muscle, terrible sleep. Now at the 3-week mark it's like a slow-burning ember. Energy is decent, I'm not forcing myself out of bed each morning, and the fog has mostly lifted. Picked up Cialis a few days ago at 5mg daily. That area is improving as well. Hgh is ordered and should arrive within a few weeks.

Down 55lbs on Tirz so far, and my body is recomping like crazy. Best I’ve felt in 10 years,

My total came in at 681ng/dL, and hematocrit measured 48.3%, which is lower than the 49.4% from my baseline bloodwork.

Nearly every marker looked fine. The exceptions: HDL sat at 34, which is on the low side, reverse T3 ran a bit elevated, and cortisol came back slightly under range… most likely a result of being 14 weeks deep into a cut while shedding 2.8lb/week (that's 1% of where I started, 1.15% of where I am now).
