Normally when I'm just lounging around doing nothing, I sit at 60-70 bpm. Today, though, out of nowhere, I saw my heart rate hit 109 while I was sitting on the couch. Any idea what might be behind this? I take 3mg of reta and KLOW daily. I'm guessing it's the reta? Nothing like this has ever happened to me before.

While I was on reta, this occurred fairly often for me. A higher resting HR was something I could tolerate — what bothered me were the spikes that came when I was barely doing anything.

That's the reason I made the switch to Tirz.

This occurred just one time, back when my dose was about 5mg weekly (I'm on 8mg now). I got dizzy and threw up, and it took roughly 30 minutes before my heart rate came back down under 100bpm. I can't explain what triggered it, but luckily it hasn't recurred since.

A single episode is hard to interpret. Ever since I got a watch that tracks my heart, I've seen plenty of odd readings, and that was true even before reta. There are moments when I'm simply seated, the watch buzzes to suggest I calm down, and it reports an elevated rate — yet I feel entirely fine. I've also spotted brief, abrupt spikes during the night.

Now that I'm on reta, I've gone back through my traces, and my resting rate hasn't shifted at all.
