Hey everyone,

Mounjaro has been my medication for roughly 3 months at this point, but recently I started looking more closely into reta, and this forum showed up again and again while I was searching.

To be honest, my reason for being here is to find out what Reta has been like for all of you and how it stacks up against Tirzepatide. For anyone who switched over not long ago, I'd really like to know what your experience has been like.
I switched over not long ago. Last week was my first shot…2mg. For this week I bumped it up to 2.5 since the previous dose didn’t seem to do anything for me. So far no pounds have come off. My hunger hasn’t changed either. I injected on Sunday evening…then on Monday I got home from work and passed out at 5 PM, staying asleep until 6:30 AM the following day. I was completely wiped out! Usually I need sleeping pills to drift off at night, yet I knocked out without taking any of my meds. As of today, though, I’m feeling like myself again.
What's your take on the 2.5 dose so far? Once I come off MJ, my plan is to begin Reta at 1mg, though I've read that when it comes to curbing appetite, Reta may not hit as hard as MJ does — so I'm already figuring I'll need to bump it up once week 1 is done...
Hey, the appetite suppression hits you right away, mate.

I'd been using mounjaro before this and honestly they're pretty alike, except this one's better overall since it covers all 3 receptors.

I'm over 4 weeks in on 2.5 now, the food noise is still silenced, which lets me stick to clean eating and the proper amount of cals.

Stick with it champ, rome wasnt built in a day !
Good stuff — right now I’m digging into the ‘grey’ market and reading through the pointers people share here before I commit to changing over.

There’s also plenty to pick up when I check out the other peptides out there, but I’m pacing myself and not adding anything else yet — otherwise I’d end up like a bit of a pin cushion lol

I had been taking MJ at 7.5 and reached a plateau. Now I’ve had my second reta injection, and during the first week I lost 4lbs. I’m following the approach many others have described—reta on Sunday, MJ on Wednesday—and it appears to be working well. Most people say it takes a while to truly kick in, but so far, alternating between the two seems effective.

If keeping muscle is a priority, take note: Mounjaro tends to drop overall weight, muscle included, while Reta is the one that supports preserving it.

I'm another one who's fairly new to reta, having come over from tirz. So far things are going well, except my stomach has been more unsettled than it ever was on tirz or sema. I figured the appetite suppression and food noise would be about the same as tirz, but in my case it's turned out a bit stronger, so that's a plus! The heavy tiredness still hits me for a few days after each injection. I'm still at the lowest dose and due for my 3rd pin in a few days. Fingers crossed the GI issues settle down on their own.
What was your tirz dosage prior to switching, and what's your current Reta dose?
Each week I take 2.5 tirz, and I'm beginning reta at 10 units! Since I've still got a fair amount of tirz remaining, I'll keep stacking (and staggering) my doses while figuring out what works best. This week—my week 3—I feel ready to increase my reta dose.

Reta is what led me to this community as well. I've been quietly reading here for quite some time and have kept up with GLP1 research for a while, but Reta is the one I'm most enthusiastic about.

Glad to have you here, friend!

How have things been going for you recently? Did reta end up giving you better results?

I'm in a similar situation. MJ was my medication for roughly a year, and I dropped 77 pounds during that stretch. My weight made me happy, but once I hit maintenance, MJ pretty much quit doing anything for me. Being at the maximum dose, going through the regulated pharmacy route, and barely feeling any effect was equal parts annoying and costly! So 4 weeks ago I quit MJ and began looking into Reta (I've gained 7lbs since then). Later today I'll take my first 2mg injection 😬 and then we'll find out how it goes. I fully expect that my tolerance levels mean I'll need to bump the dosage up pretty quickly. That said, I do wish I'd been better informed and bolder months back, since I could have spared myself a decent chunk of money.
