Hi all, I just joined. For the past few weeks I've been reading through everything on here. My sister did well on reta, so after researching it more, I chose to give it a go.

I wanted to say hello and mention that I'm nearing week 3 of retatrutide (1.5mg every 5 days), and for the first time since around age 12, the noise around food has gone quiet. That sense of freedom is amazing to me. I'm still quite hungry and I like eating, but I no longer have to make myself stop. Ever since I was young, my hunger spirals and I eat really quickly. Up to now, Reta has helped me slow down and avoid overeating much more easily.

My numbers so far:

  • Age: Late 30s, Male
  • Height: 5'10"
  • Starting Weight: 185 lbs
  • Current Loss: 2 lbs

On the side effect front, I've had almost no bad reactions yet, except I trust my farts a little less. I frequently get the sensation that heartburn is about to hit, but nothing has actually risen up and burned. RHR is up roughly 5-7 BPM.

Really happy I came across this community.

Welcome aboard. Out of curiosity, what made you decide to start a GLP1?

5'10" @ 185lbs strikes me as a pretty healthy size for a guy. Am i missing something?

Mostly it's about food noise, keeping blood sugar in check, and drinking less alcohol (already down 50%).

Without my routine of regular fasting, walking 14-18k steps daily, lifting 1-3x weekly, and always battling cravings, I'd probably be very overweight like the rest of my family. My sister has changed that for herself, but the others haven't.

I realize 185 isn't extreme, but I'm getting soft and was heading toward being clearly overweight. My first aim is to reach 162lbs while keeping muscle loss low, then stay around that. 27lbs may not seem like much, but for my build it is, and people notice (friends and acquaintances comment when I fluctuate by 10 lb).
