Reading between the lines here, it seems the peptide business is now positioned to generate some classic American profit, and the pattern will likely mirror what happened with legalized hemp, pot, and supplements — where control over supply and distribution ends up in the hands of whoever can afford to grease the political wheels with that same money. Take the example of marijuana: in most states, you can't simply launch a pot farm and start growing medical or recreational product. The bulk of the licenses are awarded to "Big Pot" — corporations and venture capital outfits with financial leverage, meaning lobbying power. Sure, having more human trials and clinical evidence, whether it supports or opposes these compounds, would be fantastic. But expect patents to start appearing not long after. Tracking where investment flows into the American peptide sector once this takes effect would be a fascinating exercise.
