Retatrutide Not Working After 3 Weeks?

So you've joined the sub-10% body fat crowd.

Staying at that level means you have to stop thinking of food as a pleasure. From here on, it's just fuel.

Eating will never be fun again.

#NoMoreStroopwafel4You 🙂

Unless there's a concrete target in mind (a show, a shoot, that kind of thing), I wouldn't bother.

#NotWorthIt

That said, if appetite suppression is what you're after, tirzepatide or reta plus cagrilintide are worth a shot.

Though if the goal is genuinely getting shredded, stronger compounds are probably the route.

I get your point about the studies mostly being done on overweight/obese people, but I don’t think that applies to what I’m asking.

The mechanism should still work the same way when it comes to appetite and food noise. Body fat level would be more relevant if I was saying I’m not losing weight anymore, but that’s not my issue.

I’m losing weight fine and I’m strict with my protein. My issue is more about food noise and hunger coming back earlier than expected.

Even outside of a diet, I can easily eat up to 6,000 calories a day, so I’m just naturally a very hungry person and I genuinely love food

6000 calories 😂 Before reta, that was exactly my situation — I was hitting the gym 2 times a day in the morning. I started reta 4 weeks ago. And honestly, I think you and I are in the same situation. My exact body fat percentage is unknown to me, but according to the scale I use it's 10.6%, so whether that number is even right I can't say — the point is I'm very lean and I want to get leaner still. For the past 4 weeks, from the moment I began reta, I've been on 1500 calories, yet my results look nothing like yours. My dose is 1 mg weekly, hunger never shows up, my empty stomach constantly feels "bloated", and cravings never hit me. Within about 10 minutes of starting a meal, or after only a few bites, I'm totally full, and once the whole meal is done it seems like I consumed a huge amount, when calorie-wise I hardly ate anything. What I'd tell you is to choose foods with a lot of volume. For myself, I think the move is to eat small amounts of food so I can reach my daily calories, because every single day is a struggle. Forcing food down my throat feels like I'm bulking, yet with this huge calorie deficit I'm actually cutting.

6000 calories 😂That was literally me before reta cause i hit the gym 2 daily in the morning. I got on reta 4 weeks ago. And I think I'm in the same boat as you. I don't know what my body fat percentage is exactly, but the scale I use says 10.6%, so I'm not sure if that's even accurate, but the thing is, I'm extremely lean, and I'm trying to get even leaner. And been eating 1500 calories for the past 4 weeks ever since I got on reta but my experience has been completely different than yours. And I'm on 1 mg every week, and I'm never hungry, and I'm always feeling "bloated" on an empty stomach, and I'm never craving anything. And as soon as I start eating within like 10 minutes, or even just a few bites, I'm completely full, and then when I do finish my entire meal and It feels like I ate so much when in reality I barely ate calorie-wise. My suggestion to you is eat food that is very voluminous. I think for me, I need to start eating small volumes of food to get in the calories for the day because every day is a hassle. I have to force food down my throat and it feels like I'm bulking, but I'm actually cutting with this massive calorie deficit.

It's honestly wild how much individual responses vary between different compounds

No shock at all. That's the trial starting dose you're on. Were it me, I'd jump to 4 mg weekly and never revisit it.

To put it in context, TRIUMPH-4 trials kick off at 2 mg weekly, stepping up every 4 weeks (2, 4, 6, 9, 12mg).
I'm going to give this a shot, but honestly it seems like Tirz would be less expensive and more dependable right now, at least when it comes to keeping hunger in check.

Tirz is clearly the stronger option when appetite control is what you're after. I run both together, spaced 3.5 days apart (T 5mg + R 4mg). Once my Cagri shows up, I plan to look into stacking Reta with Cagri.

Anyone here tried that combination before? I'd be glad to hear your thoughts

With that combination, what's your experience like? Any adverse effects?

Genuine question - what's happening with your digestion, I worry I'd never be able to go if I ran those doses together.

So far, nothing unpleasant has hit me. I haven't dealt with nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, or similar issues.

Sure, digestion has slowed down, but it's not a real problem provided I keep up with fruit, vegetables, and water. When I let those slip, things get more difficult 😉

You could say that lesson came with a brick to the face 🧱

Would you be willing to share how tall you are and how much you weigh?
My height is 1.82m, and right now I weigh about 74 kg with glycogen depleted.

When I get down to roughly 10% body fat, my depleted weight will likely be about 71.5 kg. Then, once my glycogen stores are refilled, based on what I've seen, I'd expect to land near 76 kg at around 10.5% body fat.

Hashimoto's here - getting through each day is a battle 🤣

Lately I've been wanting to snack more, so I'm considering stacking Tirz to see whether that helps. I recently tapered off Vyvanse, and since then I've been hit with an intense, unexplained hunger.

Did you actually ask him how long it is? This whole thing gives me an odd feeling...

In a Dutch or German setting that works fine, but once you say it in English it comes off as strange, honestly hahahah

Hey everyone, got a quick thing I wanted to ask about with my retatrutide.

I bumped it up to 2 mg not long ago. Prior to that, from April 23rd onward, I was on 1.5 mg every 5 days.

Since the increase, something odd has been going on: my appetite seems to return quite strongly somewhere around day 3–4. I still fill up very quickly while eating, but 3–4 hours afterward I'm ready to eat again.

Earlier on, particularly during the first couple of days following a shot, the appetite suppression came through harder and held steadier.

Right now I'm cutting and sitting near 12% body fat, so it could simply be that my body is resisting more since I'm already relatively lean.

Anyone else run into this? Did I mess something up, or is this simply what diet fatigue/adaptation looks like 🙄?
Consider dividing your injection into 2 doses per week — that schedule is effective for the majority of users — and if that still doesn't help, raise the amount.

Retatrutide doesn't curb appetite as strongly as tirz or sema. If you want stronger hunger control, you could add tirzepatide on top — that's my own approach. (2.5mg tirz + 1mg reta)

That said, it's typical for hunger to creep back in as the week goes on, because retatrutide (and glp peptides in general) has a half-life of roughly 6 days.

A few people try dividing their weekly dose into smaller shots taken more often, rather than a single injection every 7 days. The weekly total doesn't change, but blood levels might stay steadier with less of a peak-and-trough pattern. For instance, you could try pinning every three days to see whether your appetite responds better.
To be honest, I need to look into stacking the two, since I came across info saying Reta's glucagon effect kicks in only at higher doses beginning at 6mg, and 1mg is like
Based on what I've come across, the tingling sensation in the skin comes from the glucagon component of Reta. At 4mg, I experience that skin tingling without fail, every time. As for the 6mg 'thing', it might just be an internet myth. Regardless, I've reached my target weight, it came off quickly, and I dealt with skin tingling, a faster heartbeat, and incredible fat loss. 262 down to 190. That's 70 pounds lost.

Skin tingling happened to me just 2 times: the first was following my initial injection (0.5mg), and the second came a few days afterward, by which point I'd taken roughly 1.5mg in total.

These days I'm on 2mg every 3 days, which works out to 4.66mg weekly. Zero side effects, other than the fact that I can't fucking eat and my digestion is slow as hell LOL

I'm lean too, and once I raised my dose to 8mg/wk, my hunger and food noise climbed right along with it. Causation? No idea. Correlation? Definitely. A lot of people claim reta doesn't suppress appetite as well as other GLPs, but in my case it actually left me hungrier. Food was on my mind 24/7.

I thought about switching to tirz, but instead I went with stacking cagri. It appears to be having some effect. When you're glycogen depleted, I doubt that having glucagon in the mix does your hunger levels any favors.

Since cagri hits different receptors, stacking it made more sense than pushing my reta dose even higher. I'm tapering my reta down now - the goal is to get to 1mg alongside cagri, then move over to elora.

Just wondering out loud here...when people sit at roughly 10-13% BF and are really lean, is that because they dropped a huge amount of weight through peptides and are now after hunger control plus upkeep, or were they slim from the start, enjoy eating a lot, and simply want something to blunt appetite? If someone is that lean yet has a past of putting away large amounts, say 6k calories, then it seems like their metabolism is already running at a very high level. I'm only trying to get a handle on what you all are aiming for, so that when I get to my own target and I'm close to that degree of leanness, I might have some idea of how my own thinking could shift down the road.

There's no way I could take in 6k calories and remain lean; that sort of thing isn't real. My aim is to get to just under 10% bodyfat and then do a lean bulk from that point. Since I'm already fairly muscular, "thin" wouldn't be the right word for me. Thin would describe either someone with very low bodyfat and very little muscle who simply looks skinny, or someone whose weight is low and who appears thin in clothing but carries high bodyfat, like a skinny fat person.

I wasn't pointing at you. I accept that you're not thin. I get that at the same weight, body fat percentage reads very differently for someone lean versus someone muscular. My question probably wasn't phrased well. What I actually wanted was to hear from those who started out very heavy, dropped a huge amount of weight, and are now sitting at their goal weight while shaping their physique — how do they handle eating and what comes next?

Are those people still around, using peptides such as Tirz or Reta mainly for appetite suppression, or are they here chasing an ideal that can never be reached? Do they consider quitting and switching back to plain vitamin-style supplements, or do they assume peptides will be part of their life forever? I'm asking for my own future. Will I simply choose to never stop? Will I get fixated on a physical condition that stays out of reach because each time I want more? I realize the health upsides of peptides are generally strong, yet some posts worry me — people running 5, 6, 7 or even more peptides to manage, avoid, or produce one outcome or another.

Have you considered combining Reta with Cagrilintide? Cagrilintide can assist with managing appetite and providing satiety support.
