I'm a 30 year old guy with an ADHD diagnosis. For the last 5 years I've been on Concerta at 54mg.

9 days ago I began Retatrutide at 2mg/week. For the first time since being prescribed them, I skipped my ADHD meds, and I feel absolutely fantastic - like I'm still taking them - except it lasts the entire day rather than Concerta's 12 hour window.

Somehow GLP-1 messes with dopamine receptors, but a change this positive wasn't something I anticipated.

I'm aware that because Retatrutide slows digestion, certain people have to move to instant release options (adderal and ritalin).

Has anyone else gone through anything like this? What was the outcome over a longer stretch of time?

Same here! My dose matches yours, and I've been on it for roughly the same duration. I also began reta at 2mg. The only thing bothering me is complete exhaustion. On a few days I took my Concerta just to get moving since I'm sooo tired, and I hope that fades quickly lol, but other than that it's been fantastic!!

While on Concerta, have you managed to get to sleep?

Were you able to complete your work?

Yep! I've noticed I wake a bit earlier and then drift back off, nothing serious in it, and I drop off easily without fail.

My second question slipped past me, apologies. On certain days fatigue has really taken over, yet my ability to concentrate and get tasks done remains solid!

I've come across claims in certain spots that reta basically cancels out the effects of stimulant meds. Since I take 70mg of vyvanse every day, I'm hesitant to begin it. I realize each person reacts differently, but hearing that a few individuals actually get good results from it is reassuring.

My diagnoses include ADHD and anxiety, and since I began tirzepatide my anxiety has dropped noticeably. Honestly, the change has been dramatic. I never anticipated this kind of benefit to my mental health. I had long assumed that my compulsive eating was connected to my ADHD in some way — that a persistent dopamine craving showed up as a persistent urge to snack. Right now I'm trying to find a source for brenipatide, a GLP currently in clinical trials for addiction treatment, so I can give it a try. I've reached my goal weight, but quitting tirz isn't something I want to do because my mental health has improved so much on it. So I'm exploring other choices for maintenance, hoping to keep feeling good (and avoid putting myself through any further harm) as I get older.

I've repeated this until I'm blue in the face, but whatever. I suppose it ties in somewhat with ADHD. Former ADHD child, now an adult.

Everyone talks about anhedonia like it's some dreadful condition. And here I am thinking the noise in my head has cleared up. My focus lands on whatever matters at the moment. Things that pull attention away, such as food. Or love interests, they're just completely shut off. Feelings can be a real pain at times. Personally, I used to spend a lot of time on "what if" loops. Lately that just doesn't happen. Strange.

I'm taking 4mg of Reta and I have ADHD. Adderall is the only thing I've ever been prescribed. When I do remember to take my medication, I can clearly tell it helps. Even so, Reta seems to have an effect that keeps me going on days I skip it. Since starting Reta, I've been missing doses more frequently, precisely because of that.

Sadly, stimulants cause my blood pressure to spike way too high. A mix of strattera plus an SSRI antidepressant works fairly well for me. Still, ever since my parents allowed me to drink it, I've been a HUGE coffee fiend — clearly it helps me concentrate. Tirz changed my caffeine intake right away: I now drink just 1/3 as much coffee as I used to. I feel sharper and more focused. It's incredible.

In other groups I belong to, I've gone into detail about this.

My diagnoses include adhd, anxiety and a panic disorder.

I began reta in October 25, quit my adhd meds in November, and haven't required them since. I'm nearly done tapering down an snri I've been on for years.

No anxiety, no panic attacks, very few adhd symptoms. It's all been extremely manageable. Calm mind, calm thoughts, less impulsive.

Whatever reta does past the weight loss, I'm very grateful for it.
