February 27th is when my girlfriend and I began Reta alongside GHK-Cu, and finding this community has been a real stroke of luck. Reading the threads here has already taught me plenty.
Lifting is a shared passion for both of us, and so is eating. In my own case, food has probably had a bit too strong a hold on me for the bulk of my life.
My starting figure was 115.5 kg, and that number barely budged for over two years. Training isn't new ground for me — I lift heavy and I understand nutrition — yet holding a calorie deficit for long enough has always been the hardest part.
Once we'd read so many good reports on Retatrutide, plus the Lilly Phase 3 data, we made the call to try it.
1 mg per week is where we both began, and from the very first day the way it feels has staggered me. About 7 years ago I was in my best shape, shredded at 87 kg. A great deal of muscle remains on my frame (roughly 80 kg lean mass), so the target is straightforward: get lean once more.
The scale read 110.5 kg this morning. Water accounts for some of that, no doubt, but the shift is already noticeable. Sessions feel strong, cardio genuinely does something, and for the first time in ages the weight appears to be moving properly.
What amazes me most is feeling this well while running a fairly deep calorie deficit. That's usually the point where things turn ugly for me.
Right now, though, food and I are at peace for the first time in my life.
A question for those with more experience:
Has anyone kept Reta going over a long stretch, paused it for a while, then restarted at a low dose? Does the receptor system sort of "reset" once you've had time off, making smaller doses work again?
Your experiences would be great to hear about.
