Similar breakdowns have crossed my path before, and honestly they line up with how I see things. Oil itself is only part of the picture — every material derived from it matters too.Romulusguy said:
Whatever my politics are, or whatever I personally believe about current world events, I make an effort to keep my emotional responses separate from my practical ones.
Looking at it only through a practical lens: my worry is that if escalation at the Strait of Hormuz keeps building, alongside other geopolitical instability, international shipping could become much harder and much more costly in a very short time. Add to that the probable steep increase in manufacturing and materials costs, and the numbers stop looking comfortable. So I've begun stockpiling (5+ years worth) the peptides I use and value most, for long-term storage in the freezer. I don't see this as hoarding out of shortage fear. I see it as long-term political contingency planning.
Is anyone else coming at this from a similar practical paranoia?
Because of supply interruptions and Amazon BAC vanishing without warning, I went ahead and bought another 300 syringes along with other supplies. Is it going to be much longer before syringes and ancillaries have to be sourced through the grey market?Romulusguy said:

A number of us have been doing that for a while now. Getting supplements and medical supplies through Amazon carries its own dangers — counterfeit items are widespread, and plenty of brands are dubious.MTSpace said:

When you mean “you are,” the correct word is “you’re.”RubbaDubba1 said:
I keep going back and forth, though I'm mostly siding with your point of view. Tirz has been part of my routine for 5yrs, and Reta for 2 yrs, while my experience with the rest is minimal. Still, the Kitchen Sink Protocol is only a few clicks away, and it's really got me thinking!

Whether anyone chooses to follow me is honestly irrelevant to me. What reason would I even have to care?CNCCurrency said:

And would you look at that — innovation opened up a completely fresh line of work: "AI center security defense agents," whose job is to hold those people off, plus all the positions needed to back those agents up. Sure, you might argue that terminator robots will ultimately take over from those humans, but even then, someone has to be brought on to plan the factories that produce and maintain the terminator robots, not to mention the morticians and funeral directors.lessthanhalf said:
If 90% of people—or even just 10% or more—were out of work, you couldn't keep an economy running that manages to pour hundreds of billions into AI research and data centers. Should joblessness on that scale ever become real, the fallout would be economic, social, and political, and it would include intense pressure to rein in these technologies so the economic harm stays limited. No government will sit by while GDP or revenue collapses for very long. AI might be able to take over workers' roles, but it can't turn consumers into wage-earning spenders.
Once you get anywhere near that kind of mass unemployment, you'd likely see actual crowds of people wielding pitchforks and setting data centers ablaze.
This is already reality: every one of us gymrats grinding away on treadmills and bikes is essentially generating power for those AI Data Centers! We've turned into something like the abducted Africans on galley slave vessels, shackled to our seats and rowing together in perfect rhythm!Romulusguy said:
...and after that, because of all the nuclear fallout, the AI murder bots are going to have to turn us humans into batteries — so every one of us ends up plugged into what you might call a giant "matrix", keeping the machines running that treat us as fuel! Hold on..........I've heard this somewhere before..........
