Pinching an inch (or several inches) of sub fat to inject has become impossible.

Back in June I started Reta, then added Tesa not long after. At first, pinching a bit of fat around my midsection to inject was a simple routine. These days it's basically out of the question.

I'm not griping, and I'm not bragging either (okay, maybe a little). What surprises me is that I've carried love handles my whole adult life. Losing them feels like saying goodbye to an old friend (NOT!).

There used to be several inches there, and sticking myself was easy. 4 months on, I honestly have very little left.

I went from 185 lbs to 168 as of today, and with the substantial belly fat I had (I wish I'd measured it at the start), finding a spot that hasn't already been poked a hundred times is getting really hard.

Sometimes I get blood when I inject where my love handles used to be. I know the glutes get mentioned as an alternative site, but honestly, how do you reach back there and still see what you're doing, lol?

I'm also running KLOW, HCG and NAD+ (MOTS C).

Reta isn't going anywhere — it's been wonderful.

According to a nurse and a parent of a diabetic child on Reddit, being able to pinch even a small amount of skin appears to be sufficient:

As with subq injections in my upper arms, I skip the pinch and simply inject 6 mm straight in. With 8 mm, I usually go in at an angle. The upper thighs are another option:

Certain spicy peptides, MOTS-c aside, can be administered IM. The wellness clinics in this area give NAD+ by IM, and gluta by IM too. GHK-Cu might hurt more via IM because of the copper, though I haven't tried it. From what I've heard anecdotally, IM MOTS-c carries too much anaphylaxis risk.

That's a good issue to be dealing with. A pinch isn't really required — the short 4-6mm insulin-style needles are made to be inserted straight in at 90 degrees without one. So even someone lean can rotate through the outer thighs, the back of the arms, the upper outer glutes, and whatever belly tissue remains. Moving between a few sites lets the older ones recover, and a little blood now and then is typically just a capillary that got nicked — hold pressure for a minute and it's fine.

Try your thighs instead — there's plenty of room there. Finding a spot to inject shouldn't be difficult, unless your body fat is under 8-10%.

Is pinching actually required when injecting? My pen has an 8 mm needle, and I've simply been injecting directly into my belly fat without pinching at all.

Have I been doing this incorrectly?

I've also read that some people achieve good results by injecting into the thigh. Should I consider switching from the abdomen to the thigh?

I can't say for certain, but pinching to tighten the skin does appear to be helpful.

I prefer being able to watch the spot where I'm injecting, which is the reason I never use my butt.
Stand in front of a mirror. Angle your hips toward it, rotate your shoulders the other way, and use the reflection to locate your site before you inject.
