About to begin another Reta cycle - my lifting routine stays fairly steady, but I'm curious what others have found when combining peptides with reta to gain muscle. CJC and ipamorelin are names I've come across, though I haven't looked into them deeply. Is anyone here using these alongside reta, and how has it gone for you? Are they worth it for muscle growth?

Currently running Reta, Growth, and Test. Reta and Growth are at low dosages. Test, as expected, is contributing to building muscle. With Reta and Growth in the mix, I'm beginning to get leaner.

That's right—the trio of reta, hgh, and test is often called the Holy Trinity. If hgh isn't an option for you, then secretagogues like ipa, tesa, and similar compounds are where your money would go.

Should you decide to run secretagogues such as CJC, Tessa, Ipa or Serm, the smart move is to check your IGF1 at baseline, while on them, and once you finish, since that tells you what is actually happening (measuring GH itself is basically not feasible with any accuracy). Keep in mind that water retention is guaranteed, and your appetite will climb as well, so body recomp is possible, but any continued fat loss means pushing your GLP1 dose up substantially. Better sleep and quicker recovery are also likely, so everything comes with a trade off, and it depends on your goal. Levels can be pushed into the high normal range without your body down regulating. For someone young, starting TRT is a lifelong decision that will probably suppress production for a year or longer. Your own GH, on the other hand, tends to bounce back fairly fast (about a week) once you quit supplementing it directly.

I'll admit I don't know much about this topic. From what I understand, test can mess with your natural levels once you come off a cycle - does that work the same way with secretagogues? My thinking is that they only give the hormone a boost while you're on cycle, helping with muscle growth, and once you stop there isn't really any "pull back" to deal with. Or have I got that wrong?

Once you stop hgh or secretagogues, endogenous hgh production bounces back pretty fast. Be sure to check blood sugars and hb1ac both before and while using, plus igf-1, and while you're at it confirm blood pressure and lipids are fine. Diabetes or heart attacks aren't worth a bit of muscle growth. Also, if you're young it may not be wise. Therapies that raise hgh over the long term are likely a net negative for health rather than a positive; generally, animals with low hgh outlive those with normal or higher levels, and long term use in humans hasn't been studied well, so at minimum weigh long vs short term benefits and costs. And research the adverse effects of these therapies too, so you'll know what's happening if you end up with carpal tunnel syndrome etc. Lower doses rather than higher ones are far safer; what MESO considers normal is massively supraphysiological.

Forgive my lack of knowledge in this area, I know test can affect natural levels when you cycle off, with secretagogues is this different? They just stimulate the hormone when you are on cycle to increase muscle growth and when you are off you don't really suffer a "pull back"? Or am I wrong

The reply from Lessthanhalf was excellent. Whether to use hgh or testosterone therapy hinges greatly on what you're trying to achieve and, above all, how old you are. If you're under roughly 50 and haven't been diagnosed with clinically low levels, give it serious thought before starting any therapy. For people outside the Meso community, suggested doses are modest - 1 iu for women, 2 iu for men. Don't count on striking changes - think marathon, not sprint. I've been told it takes at least six months before body recomp becomes truly noticeable, provided you're doing strength training. The upside with hgh: once you stop adding it exogenously, your pituitary gland resumes within roughly a week and you make your own again.

Testosterone therapy is likely a weightier choice, since it can become a lifelong commitment without much trouble. If you're a man in the "Wannabe a daddy" stage of life, this deserves real consideration. Adding hcg can help maintain fertility, or you could take the more drastic step of freezing a batch of your swimmers. Like hgh, the dose depends heavily on your mindset and objectives. For an anti-aging, moderate fitness aim as a middle aged or senior person, aim for TRT levels (or a bit above) - no more than 175-200 mg weekly. Test was conventionally administered IM, though newer guidance is leaning toward SQ - steadier, slower absorption and less chance of aromatization (which raises estrogen levels).

With both of these and reta, getting your baselines established matters. CMP, hormones (LH,FSH, total T, free T, estradiol) and don't overlook IGF.

Have that bloodwork completed before the first shot! Then begin gently and slowly, and retest after 8-12 weeks.

As for me - male, around 60, was 275, now 175 (thanks tirz!) - my daily routine: 25 mg Test C SQ in the am, 2 iu hgh before bed. 10 mg tirz on Sunday, 5 mg reta on Wednesday. Retesting soon.

Lessthanhalf wrote a brilliant response. Hgh and testosterone therapies are heavily dependent on personal goals and especially age. If you’re less than 50-ish and not clinically diagnosed with low levels, think very deliberately before embarking on a course of therapy. Recommended dosages for the non-Meso community are low - 1 iu for women, 2 iu for men. Don’t expect to see dramatic results - this is a marathon, not a sprint. I’ve been counseled that it will take a minimum of six months to really see body recomp, assuming you’re engaging in strength training. The good news about hgh is that when you stop adding exogenously, your pituitary gland will kick back in within about a week and you’ll produce your own again.

Testosterone therapy is probably a bigger decision, as this can easily be a lifetime commitment. If you’re a male in the “Wannabe a daddy” zone, you really need to think this through. You can add hcg to preserve fertility, more drastically you could freeze a bunch of your swimmers. As with hgh, dosing is highly dependent on your mindset and your goals. If you pursue the anti-aging, moderate fitness goal as a middle aged or senior, think TRT levels (or slightly above) - no more than 175-200 mg per week. Test was traditionally done IM, but more recent recommendations are trending to SQ - more steady and slow absorption with lower chance of aromatization (raises estrogen levels).

For both of these plus reta, establishing your baselines is crucial. CMP, hormones (LH,FSH, total T, free T, estradiol) and don’t forget IGF.

Get that bloodwork done before the first shot! Then start nice and slow and retest in 8-12 weeks.

Me personally - 60-ish male, was 275, now 175 (thanks tirz!) - daily routine: 25 mg Test C SQ in the am, 2 iu hgh before bed. 10 mg tirz on Sunday, 5 mg reta on Wednesday. Retesting soon.

Thanks for laying it all out. From what I'm putting together — and tell me if I've got this wrong — stacking something extra just for muscle growth probably isn't worth the trouble. Reta, for instance, clearly pays off for fat loss, which I know firsthand. But going by what's been said here, CJC and ipamorelin don't appear to deliver much of a boost, unless I'm misreading it.

Straight up: a true "peptide for muscle growth" doesn't exist. The ones listed earlier may each lend a hand to some degree, but what you eat, how you sleep and how you train will shape your results far more than any peptide can. Nail those down before anything else.

Building muscle requires a surplus of fuel, meaning food. To add muscle, your calorie intake has to go up considerably so that growth is supported.

But when Reta is in the picture, your appetite gets blunted, so hitting those necessary calories becomes a real struggle.

So if muscle gain is the goal, it may be best to leave Reta out during the growth phase of your cycle.

Sure, eating way more calories than you burn makes building muscle simpler. That said, it's not impossible to add muscle while eating fewer calories than you need. It just takes more effort, yet it can definitely be done—particularly when Reta is used at a smaller dose.

Dude, I figured everyone knew this already... eating more calories has no impact on hypertrophy

That's not true — it does have an effect. I knew a guy who lifted weights, and he was furious that I matched his bench press even though I was significantly overweight and never worked out. People who are overweight or obese usually have more muscle than average, in the lower body because they have to support the added weight, and in the upper body too. I'm not saying you should get obese to build muscle, but the phenomenon is genuine.

On a different forum, the advice given was to introduce a single therapy, wait 4-6 weeks, and track the results closely before layering in anything else. Record everything in detail: the timing and the amount of every therapy you use. On a daily basis, write down blood pressure, heart rate, energy levels, gains, symptoms, and how you feel overall, continuing until everything is dialed in. Every 12 weeks, get bloodwork done and check in with a doctor so nothing gets overlooked.

Let us know how it goes and what kind of results you get from your therapies.

In what way does this waste money? If you're training, you'll actually gain muscle from these

The point being made by the poster comes down to two options: sink a large amount of cash into hgh secretagogues that might deliver very little benefit, or pay far less and simply use hgh.

My own experience covers a handful of them. Ipa didn't do much for me, tesa I really like, and igf1-lr3 was a complete waste of money. These days I'm on a low dose of hgh, sleeping wonderfully, and after a couple of months the broader benefits are beginning to show. One 36 iu kit stretches to six months - $125 that was worth it.

Sleep - I'd like to know what time you take your HGH and how much you use. I've seen it recommended both in the morning and right before bed. Also, whether it should be taken fasted or not. The information online is all over the place, so given that your sleep has been great, I'd be interested to hear what your own experience has been. Thank you.
