Looking at Tirz sourced from group buys that came with testing, my price per mg breaks down as high $.275, low $.14, and average $.185.

Once the biggest vial size is left out, that average shifts to $.214/mg.

Running $.214/mg across 12.5mg/week for 52 weeks lands at $139.10. Say Hospira lasts 3 months and runs $30/vial (the exact figure hardly matters, pick whatever, mine lands near $8/vial), then you're adding $120 more (or $32).

Then tack on syringes for dosing and reconning, though 1ml insulin needles can handle both if you prefer, plus filters if you use them, alcohol wipes, and so on, and suddenly the full picture is there. Set that against compounded at $1692/year, which as far as I can tell already includes the supplies you're expected to have.

What did your initial tests turn up? I'm wondering whether anything worrying showed up. My guess is that you've kept testing since then. Has a test ever come back as a fail for you?

Back-to-back tests from a group buy I belong to have come back "failing." The initial one showed underfill. The replacement had no peptide at all. I've been waiting ages for the next reship; it's sitting with Jano and could take even longer. No stress on my end—that's just how Gb's operate—but if my stash weren't solid, I'd be feeling it.

Wow, that sounds really nerve-wracking. At least you've got some extra supply you can rely on.

Initial results were all positive! Out of everything I've bought, just a single "bad" result showed up: the GHK-Cu 50 had a 36g fill. Safety was my only concern, so it didn't bother me... then a separate 3p test on the same product revealed an overfill.

I've been waiting 3 months on 8 kits across 2 separate GBs run by the same organizer, and nothing has shipped so far. From what I understand, they're boxed up and labeled, just waiting to go out. I can't really blame her — the suppliers got overwhelmed, and Janshik was backed up on shipping.

but that's assuming a trustworthy group buy is behind it — and honestly, even in that case, it's anyone's guess.

Because batches differ and nobody really enforces any kind of “batching standards,” putting complete trust in it is a shaky bet.

Personally, I’m not that bothered about testing for my own use. I stick to well-known sources that have been tested and that lots of different people have used, and honestly — bad word travels fast. On top of that, you’re drawing on a far bigger pool of lower-quality data, which does a better job of exposing batch-to-batch swings or plain old fraud.

Group Buy testing methodology can be a joke at times — shipping off 1-2 vials out of an order that holds hundreds to thousands of kits. Other times they ask the vendor for “samples” and test those directly rather than pulling randomly from kits that actually get delivered.

I’m not saying testing is bad, just that there’s a lot of science theater going on.

You can find communities where individual buyers team up to fund a shared test, regardless of whether they're part of a group buy. Spend a bit more time browsing around here and you'll likely stumble across it, if you haven't already.

A few of those vendors might be site sponsors, while others might not be.

Regarding whether GB's actually save money, the lowest I've paid so far works out to 27.5 cents per MG for reta, and 16.4 cents per mg for tirz. From what I can tell, some folks here have managed to get reta down nearer to 20 cents per mg, though I haven't come across that myself. Every one of those prices covers testing, and I might still run another test alongside other GB participants as a group test to double-check the Organizer's test.
