“Edited to ensure I hopefully don’t break any rules

Ok guys complete newbie here so go easy lol. I’m getting my head wrapped around all of this and just want to get some real theoretical numbers to see if the juice is worth the squeeze so to speak.

I’m hoping to continue my Terz journey. I’m currently at about 141 a month compounded.

By my calculations I need 2600mg for a weekly shot of 12.5…(the most effective dose I was on) for a years supply.

How does this group buying work and does it save a lot?

Are the prices in the vendor section per vail? Or kit whatever a kit is lol

I know a lot can’t actually be said here I don’t think. I am reading and learning here as well as spending a lot of time on Reddit as well lol.

12.5mg x 52 weeks = 650mg per year

Group buys can save you money both in product and in testing, but that’s a Gray Peptide 201 course, right now stick with Gray Peptide 101. GBs introduce a whole new level of searching, gambling and vetting. (Also with NSD banner, it’s not really what you want to be discussing right now.)

All the vendors here sell in kits (10 vials per kit, almost all vials are 3mL size—except NAD, glutathione and maybe a few choice others that come in 10mL vials — but contain differing amounts of mgs depending on what you choose to get) or with some cosmetic grade topical peptides (like cosmetic grade GHK-Cu) by the gram. These should NOT be injected!

I assume you mean $141/mo for compounded?

See that damn decimal I was reading about already got my dumb butt lol.

Yes that’s for a month.

I’m just looking for my one peptide and to be safe lll

Even if you pay for comprehensive testing yourself (~$600 for Mass/purity, Endotoxins and Heavy Metals) you’ll still come out ahead savings wise.**

My first gray purchase example:

1 kit Tirzepatide 40mg (400mg total) = $285 including shipping (bad deal, way too much $ but I didn’t know better at the time)

Minus 120mg (3 vials) to ship off to Jano for testing. Each of the tests I mentioned require their own vial. Heavy Metals aren’t much of a concern but I was nervous and wanted to check for as much as I could afford.

Testing plus shipping to Janoshik for testing (the gold standard lab) ~$675

Total cost = $960

Total mgs I keep= 280mg

Cost per mg = $3.43

Cost per month at 12.5mg = $42.86/wk x 4= $171.50/month

**EDIT: LOL I did some wrong math - happens to us all! I forgot to multiply the cost per dose by the weeks in a month, so in this example you would lose money. However, no one here is paying $285 for 1 kit of T40, and not many people test for heavy metals! When I did this calculation re: my example above for my then-current dose, it broke down to $69/mo at 5mg doses.

A current example, based on a ballpark average of current vendor pricing here and no heavy metals test:

1 kit T40 = $170

Shipping = ~$50

Jano testing for M/P/endo + shipping = $600

Total cost = $820

Mgs you keep = 320mg

Cost/mg= $2.56

Cost per month at 12.5mg weekly dose = $128.13

So NOW that I know what I know, I can get 1 kit of Tirzepatide 60mg (600mg total) with testing (for mass, purity and endos) and shipping included for less than $140 = $0.24/mg So yes you can definitely save with gray, but it will take a little while to learn how to do so.

Excellent post! This breakdown puts the monthly cost into such a great perspective. There are a lot of upfront costs but spread out, it’s quite a good deal

I’ll add, that to do all of this, you’ll need to wait a significant amount of time to start your research.

Do you ever trust the COA?

If I pay for the COA, I trust it. Janoshik has nothing to gain by lying to me (unlike the scammers manipulating test results for profit at Finnrisk). I don’t trust vendor COAs, only ones paid for by me either personally or with group I’m in. I semi-trust third party aka 3P tests if I see a few with similar results in testing groups I’m in (but didn’t pay to be a part of the testing; this is because I don’t know the organizer or how they went about the testing.)

Yes, I had to save for a bit to do this! But I figured I was paying $400/mo when I first started compounded, so saving my pennies for a few months could get me all the way to goal. This is not how I do things for most of my products. Right now I will only do self-testing for one pep SS-31 that I missed out on group tests for…but not for a few months yet since it’s not something I need, like tirz. (I’ve never taken SS-31 so it can defs chill in my freezer until I wanna fork out bank, or unless I see some 3P tests for it within the next few weeks.)

Yeah I’m getting ready to refill my compound do I don’t need to rush into anything. If I ever do at all

Hey man, I’m still paying retail for Zepbound. It’s been a great investment for me with returns far greater than cost. I’m fortunate to be able to absorb the cost. It’s safe, managed (I have a great PCP) and effective …but also fuck EL. So I have a supply from other sources. We’ll all be glad we stocked up if another pandemic hits and shipping literally stops

I paid for testing myself on my first peptide purchase but would never do it now. It is not hard to get into group testing and pay $30-$40 for testing. Also, on popular peps, you may be able to find multiple 3rd party COAs publicly posted. I have one batch of Reta that I have 5 3P COAs for so I I'm confident not testing myself. I would definitly advise taking a little more time before placing that first order and doing some reasearch to find a testing group. If you search on here, you will find a ton of information.

If you put in the correct effort here. You read a lot, you use the search function before you ask question. You asked good questions that have not been answered a BUNCH of times. And you contribute. It will be a month or two, minimum you will be readyish to buy grey. When you understand the risks, how to mitigate most of them, then you will get resources from you new friend on here. You will be ready to save a lot of money(most of the time). You will get scammed sometimes. Your banner, preventing you from talking a about sources is there to protect you and this community. End game, about $200 a year for for your tirz. You get a LOT to learn first.

Depends on who's ordering them. I don't test. The GB I do all order testing including Endo, and it's included in the pricing. If the vendor/supplier was, nope. We've seen so many duplicate COA.s with just names changed.

I'm in the same boat. I use the GB testing options whenever possible but I'd never send off my own. I think it's neat when others do though. When I use my preferred private single vial peeps I usually pay a couple $ more per vial for the already 3p tested peps. I don't trust vendor COAs generally.

Great information thanks I’ll keep that idea in mind

I'm just curious about the results of your first tests. Did you find anything of concern? I'm assuming you have continued to test. Have you every had a test come back as a fail?

Just a FYI, and HouseCat knows this, I pay way less per mg and a monthly amount for my wife and I, and that's for Reta. Just depends on what and where you buy, singles are way more than GB kits. Like I said, I don't pay for any testing.

First tests all came back great! I've only seen one "bad" test for a product I purchased: GHK-Cu 50 came back with a 36g fill. I didn't care as long as it was safe...and then another 3p test came back for it showing overfill.

I've had two tests in a row from a gb I'm in "fail." First one was underfilled. Reship was zero pep. Been waiting a long time for the second reship; it's with Jano and might be awhile longer. I'm not worried, it's how Gb's go, but if I wasn't well stocked, I'd be stressed.
