Ordering via RobinHood

A while back, when I was about to place my initial order for a China gray, I spoke with my rep and went down the Coinbase, Binance, exodus path — you know, the usual. My bank caused problems, loading my account and getting it ready to send was going to drag on for days. On top of that, my Coinbase had been locked because of earlier fraud, so I'd have needed to unlock it and set everything up before sending.

Then it hit me: on the RobinHood app, buying crypto had always been simple. You can load your account instantly and send right away. After looking into it a little more, I found that USDC is basically free to purchase and move. My vendor happened to accept USDC, which was lucky.

I put $600 into my RobinHood wallet in no time. Moving it to their USDC wallet cost under 10 cents.

Payment arrived on their end right away, and we were set.

Since RobinHood is one of those companies people trust, there's been no waiting, no steep fees, no bank headaches.

Robinhood is what I use, for exactly the reasons you listed.

No cost to convert to USDC, money lands instantly and the transaction fees stay tiny. Easy call lol
 
The reason people suggest non custodial wallets (exodus, for instance) for transactions isn't that they're convenient or straightforward. That extra, easy step exists so that your exchange account (Coinbase, PayPal, Venmo, Robinhood, etc) doesn't get frozen when a vendor gets busted.

It's just 1 additional transfer: Robinhood > Exodus > vendor.
 
Coinbase, PayPal, and Venmo together were a total mess. I ran into caps on spending, waiting for funds to clear, and holdups when moving money out — all of it frustrating. Once I figured out how to use Robinhood, everything got simpler, and the other researchers were glad their orders arrived faster. Lol
 
I hit a dead end trying to get Robinhood to work as my payment method. Two full days of frustration, and I still got nowhere. I had both a QR code and a link in front of me, yet I couldn't work out how to complete it. In the end I switched to Cashapp, bought crypto there, and sent payment that way. One person in this community warned me I'd regret going the Cashapp route, but they never explained the reason or told me what could go wrong. Since then I've gone through Cashapp a handful of times, and so far nothing bad has happened.
