Typical me! Last week bought 3 pieces Nordic NovoPen 6 pens to use with my peptides, without knowing that Novopen can only be used with its own prefilled insuline cartridges. Actually, when you search behind a Novopen there is also no information about that at webshops. I was charmed with nice look and its nfc connection with the app.
Opened a box with exicetement upon receiving and tried to place a cartridge. But it wasn't possible. After reading the user manual, I knew that I made a mistake. Contacted webshop and explained the situation. Reaction was positive. I could send unopened boxes for retour and they would pay me back. I had to keep the opened one.
I like buying such stuff. But hate wasting money. I could give it to anybody, if I knew somebody who uses Novopen. But none. Yesterday I had some free time and took a better look in it.
First of all cut front part of a used disposible pen, adjusted it to exact size of Novopen and glued with loctite to make it possible to use with standard pen needles. Thickness of standard cartridges was the second problem. But I was lucky. Because only a 1mm breed and 1/2 mm high part in cartridge holder was making it impossible. Filing that part has solved that problem and cartridge could be placed inside. Reassambled the pen. But there was an other problem. Pump wasn't moving out of its place. After inspecting the mechanism, discovered that the standard cartridges were shorter. Made a 2 mm thick spacer from a used ballpen housing and placed it behind the cartridge. All of the problems were solved and could be used with standard cartridges and needles.
May be buying a Novopen and modifying is not such a good idea. But can be a good solution for anybody who made the same fault as me.
