Novo CEO says 1.5 million use compounded drugs — how do grey market numbers compare?

Personally, 1.5 million strikes me as somewhat low, yet at least they're admitting their pricing is out of reach for a lot of people.

What stands out to me from the piece is how plainly it shows Novo prioritizing profit over access — that's why they bring up speed-to-market, so they don't miss out on their "breakfast."

None of which comes as any kind of shock.

If breakfast didn't cost an arm and a leg, maybe that would help. Is there a particular group of buyers who watch their spending? Honestly, unless someone has endless money, everyone pays attention to cost. Basic supply and demand tells you a cheaper price brings in more of the market. There has to be a price that still leaves them with a decent margin.

Came across a figure claiming that among the more than 31million Americans currently using glps, one third are on compounded versions. How do they arrive at these figures? To me, 1 in 12 seems more plausible.

And there's a certain irony in Novo complaining about people sidestepping fda's rules… given their own citations. They probably have some insight into that…
