Nothing is risk-free: an eyedrop recall and what "approved" can still mean

A drug maker in California is pulling millions of bottles of eye drops off the shelves, judged unsafe because of shoddy manufacturing.

The problems the FDA lists include:

  • “glass-like particles turning up”
  • "sterility problems"

Earlier recalls have involved "a fungus capable of damaging vision"

So if grey peptides strike you as a gamble, you are not wrong...

And if you assume anything FDA approved carries no risk at all, you are wrong...
 
Exactly. Even that celebrated Hospira BAC water I use myself has been recalled at some point over black specks. It all comes down to cutting risk down rather than imagining you can ever remove it entirely.
