Hey all! I'm in Australia and about to begin reta. For roughly a year I've been using wegovy at 1mg, but the cost has become unmanageable for me, and that dose wasn't high enough to stop my binge-eating patterns. Sorry in advance if these have come up already, but:

1. Is it better to have separate syringes for reconstitution versus injecting reta? If yes, what brands/units/mL would you suggest?

2. For those who moved to reta after wegovy/mounjaro, what was the switch like? Did you pause first to taper off the old drug, and is that step required?

3. Any broader tips for dealing with binge eating would be really appreciated

I hope your starting vial was 10 mg. For mixing, use a 1ml insulin syringe, and for dosing, a 0.5 insulin syringe. Before this, I had been on ozempic, then paused it for 6 months, and I regained everything plus extra. With retatrutide, 22 kgs came off over 3 months, and the number keeps going down. It made my life better. Make sure you drink plenty of water, get protein from a good source, and also take electrolytes. Vitamin c.

The way I messed up was figuring the reconstitution to give me 1mg for every 10 units using my 30gauge insulin syringe. My intention was to kick off at 0.5mg, though, and drawing just 5 units with this syringe has proven really impractical. So run a peptide calculator and think through your intended doses carefully, so the units you'll pull on the syringe stay easy to handle. When I can, I'd rather use a smaller volume than a larger one, since that cuts down on irritation where I inject.

To keep things easy to calculate, I usually match the bac water to the vial size: 1ml for a 10 mg vial, 2ml for 20mg, and so on. Because my wife and I share it, I normally buy 30mg vials so that a vial is used up before it expires, which means I mix it with 3ml. With that ratio, each 10 units on a standard 1ml syringe equals 1mg of reta.

I've been using it for roughly 3 weeks now. My starting dose was 1mg weekly, and I later increased it to 2mg.

Reta should really help you get binge eating under control, but be sure to take in enough fluids, electrolytes, and protein, and stay away from greasy foods.

Search the web for a peptide calculator; it'll help you work out both the dose and how much bac water to use.

When it comes to mixing a vial, I stick with just 1 syringe. Say I've got Tesa 24mg and 2.4mL of bac water: since I'm using U-100 insulin syringes, I'll pull up the bac water and put it into the 24mg vial in 3 shots — 100 twice, then 40 once. After that I swirl the vial around, and occasionally leave it sitting for a few minutes… then I take a separate syringe to inject my dose.

I agree with that suggestion. On top of it, I downloaded the Smart Peptide Tracker App to my phone. Thanks to it, my reconstituting and dosing became far, far simpler.
