Hello everyone! I'm just starting out. 30F, CW 231 GW 160. My diagnoses include PCOS, hidradenitis suppurativa, and a suspected histamine intolerance. I managed to drop 50 pounds through diet changes by themselves, but progress has flatlined since then.

My father began using peptides for his own health, noticed that Retatrutide showed encouraging outcomes in relation to PCOS, and suggested I try it.

It's been roughly a month and a half since I started. No adverse effects at all so far — the only thing is that I feel extremely fatigued. That's why I'm here, hoping to figure out how to handle that! I'm also interested in whether peptides might help with the other issues I deal with, specifically the HS and histamine problems.

Excited to pick up new information, glad to be part of this 🫶🤓

Welcome in! Great job on the weight you've dropped. Since I have MCAS plus several other autoimmune conditions, I've noticed Reta makes me feel significantly better — my guess is that it comes down to an overall reduction in inflammation.

For a stretch of a few months I used KPV in oral/capsule form, aiming at gut repair and immune support…that's something worth checking out if histamine problems are in the picture! My plan is to pin it, because with most peptides that route works far better. Another peptide people view as immune-supportive is Thymasin-alpha 1. After I was exposed to mold, my doctor recommended it to help settle my immune system, and my response to it was really good.

Welcome! I'm on reta right now and it has completely changed things for me. A close female friend of mine deals with PCOS, and I'd really like to find out how reta might affect her life. So I'm eager to hear about your journey and what results you get before I suggest it to her.

Glad you found us here. Feeling wiped out while using Reta isn't something only you go through, though plenty of people never get it. Personally, I sometimes feel a bit less energetic, and my wife—who began at 1mg 2 weeks back—has stretches where she's incredibly sleepy. Still, the fo appear to be getting better.

Does this side effect hit harder for you on injection days or as you increase the dose? My hunch is it ties back to shifts in blood sugar, so I told her to try a piece of fruit whenever that wave comes on.

Hey!

My sister and I were talking about PCOS earlier today. Skip past this if you already know it, but some people are discussing a name change for it — reproductive metabolic syndrome. PCOS and hyperinsulinemia share a massive amount of overlap. When blood insulin levels come down, they're observing a significant reduction in PCOS symptoms along with other inflammatory markers. Reta can assist with that. This forum is also packed with useful info about anti-inflammatory peptides.

A fun fact: in the US, you can get your blood insulin level tested for about $10. Online labs let you order it.

Wishing you well on your health journey!

What's your present Reta dosage, and what did you start out at?
Currently on 3mg. First 4 weeks were at 2mg, then took 1 week off, and this is week 2 back at 3mg. Oddly, today I don’t feel tired at all (it’s been 5 days since my dose), so maybe I’m getting used to it.

Appreciate it! Reta has definitely made a difference for my joints — they're feeling a lot less achy. KLOW is something I'm kicking off this week, so I'll report back on how that treats me. Fingers crossed it puts an end to the itching episodes and the digestive problems. There's also a plan to get back into heavier lifting once I've got more energy, which makes me wonder whether my knees will bounce back quicker in between sessions. Thanks for the suggestion — I'll check it out.

Appreciate it! For sure. Once the shot is in, the following day or 2 days afterward, fatigue hits me hard. The funny part is that on the actual dose day, I tend to feel a surge of energy. Right now I'm 5 days past my 2nd 3mg week and honestly feeling really good, which seems like a positive sign. I'm hoping that means my system is adjusting, though only time will confirm it. Actually, I've been thinking about picking up a CGM so I can keep an eye on my blood sugar.

Sounds like we're in comparable spots—great to hear 3mg has been treating you well! Using a CGM to monitor is a wise choice. When blood sugar stays steady, it really helps with tiredness, best of luck as you keep increasing your dose!

Welcome aboard! To start, dropping 50 pounds just by changing what you eat is seriously impressive — staying that consistent and disciplined isn't easy, particularly with PCOS and all the other stuff you're juggling.

I'm also completely new and have just begun reading up on peptides, so my main reason for being here is to pick up things from what others have gone through and find out what genuinely works for people over the long haul. From what I've come across, there's plenty of talk about reta assisting with appetite, inflammation, insulin sensitivity, and PCOS-related difficulties, so you're clearly in good company on that front.

That tiredness issue comes up from a lot of folks as well, so with any luck you'll come across useful threads and suggestions about it here. It's also fascinating to hear about the HS and histamine side of things — there appear to be so many inflammation-linked problems that overlap, and people in this space seem to be looking into them.

Happy you're here, and congratulations once more on what you've achieved so far!

Hi and welcome! What you've achieved so far is genuinely impressive — dropping 50 pounds through diet alone is a serious feat. Many users mention feeling tired when starting Reta, particularly during those first few weeks, and plenty report that it eases once the body gets used to it.

Can't wait to follow along as things move forward for you!

I believe Reta will be my next experiment. Tirz has kept me steady, though there are moments when holding that line is a struggle. My metabolism could really use a kick in the pants! Fingers crossed Reta delivers that for me! And I'm really hoping the tiredness I've seen mentioned doesn't hit me!

Wishing you the best as you keep going!

For me, Reta has truly turned things around, and that tired feeling does taper off in time.

Wishing you the very best as you start out with peptides 😎

reta has really changed things for the better! As for the fatigue, is that a downside, or is it something you can work around by scheduling it and making sure you sleep well?

I really appreciate you opening up about all of this. To be honest, a lot of what you describe lines up with my own situation. After a heavy mold exposure, my body mounted a strong inflammatory reaction, and mycotoxins are still detectable on labs even now. From that point on, I've dealt with what looks like immune dysregulation — histamine issues, inflammation, anxiety, brain fog, and trouble detoxing in general. It genuinely feels like my system is unable to finish clearing things out.

What you said about Reta, KPV, and Thymosin Alpha-1 really caught my attention. Could you go into more detail about which symptoms came from the mold exposure and MCAS, and which of them responded best to the peptides? Was Reta's main benefit a broad reduction in inflammation? As for KPV, did it do more for gut repair, histamine reactions, immune balance, or simply settling everything down?

I'd also like to know how much time passed before you noticed any improvement, and whether your KPV was oral or injectable. Same question for Thymosin Alpha-1 — was its primary effect calming the immune response that followed the mold exposure?

Right now I'm searching for anything that can quiet the inflammatory response while a high mycotoxin load is still present, so it means a lot to hear from someone whose peptides actually helped.
