Hi everyone! For 1 1/2 years I went the pricey sema-then-tirzepatide route, and now I need to step off that path. Cost isn't my only motive, though—I'm curious about other peptides too. I'm not sure whether I messed something up or ended up with weak Reta, because I'm in week 3 at 2mg, feel absolutely nothing, and have actually PUT ON WEIGHT—yikes!

Maybe this is a silly question, but what do the Reta 20, 30, 40 labels actually mean? The one I have is supposedly reta20. I'm considering stacking mots-c since I've read it helps with insulin sensitivity (I have PCOS and want to drop at least 40lbs).

Oh, and I'm located in Europe.

Hello and welcome!

From what you've described, there are several possible explanations for a sluggish reaction to reta. If I were to make an educated guess, it would be that your extended time on triz—likely at a larger dose—left you with some degree of glp1 resistance.

The starting dose is 2mg, intended to let your system adapt and keep side effects down. Should you be aiming to drop a substantial amount such as 40lbs, you'll need to titrate upward until you land on a dose that works well for you.

When you see reta listed as 20,30,40, that simply indicates the mg content of a single vial. For instance, a 10mg vial provides 5 injections of 2mg each, and so forth.

Should you wish to add mots-c to your reta order, by all means go ahead—it will cut your shipping cost. However, given that you're still getting a handle on reta, I'd leave it in the fridge until you have a solid grasp of how your body responds to reta.

I hope this has shed a bit more light on some of the questions you had.

My advice is to research extensively: go through what members are posting on this forum, look at clinical trial findings (if that's something you enjoy), and watch plenty of youtube videos. It's a fascinating space, but stay cautious and always do as much of your own research as you can.

Really appreciate that! Only just caught your response now—thank you. I have absolutely been digging into the research!

At 5mg I still haven't seen anything change. Now that I've come across this forum, I figure it's time to look for a different source. and stack?

Connecting with folks elsewhere in Europe would be great, so I can understand better how things operate on this side of the pond (I'm American, by the way).

If resistance has set in, what's the move? Some weight has already come back and I'm a little worried about putting on more… but at what point is it too much? Wegovy gave me the strongest results, yet tirzepatide seems to be what most people bring up.

I know I'm going on, but regardless—thanks for weighing in!

If sema and tirz both did something for you, reta failing would be a real outlier — not impossible, just unlikely. At worst you'd be someone reta simply doesn't work on even though other GLP-1s do.

Am I right in guessing you haven't picked up a kit through this forum yet? If not, I'd try that before writing reta off. Read the reviews, see what people are actually saying. Forum rules stop me from getting specific about sources, but ask more here if you like — the search box is genuinely useful too.

It's also worth asking whether the reta you've had so far was even legit. A year's worth is cheap, and tirz and sema come in cheaper still, so you have plenty of options.

I had a much longer answer ready, but the automated filter kept flagging it, so I trimmed a lot out and reworded the rest. Hope it still helps.

Hi and welcome!

What dose of Tirzepatide are you on each week, or what was it before?

Say you quit at 10mg/week—moving to 2mg of Retatrutide won't hit you hard; I'd be shocked if you noticed anything at all.

If Tirzepatide was doing the job for you, what's the reason not to stick with it? It costs less than Reta. Or why not use them together?

Hi hi — my situation was somewhat? similar,

The reta pen I picked up locally began at 2mg with absolutely 0 effects, and I started worrying I might be a non-responder. Then I pulled a trigger on vials from China, started at 1mg, and felt effects the very next day.

Hello and greetings from one newcomer to another!

My situation is pretty close—I haven’t started Reta yet (my first vial arrived today), but lately I’ve put a bit of weight back on after tapering Tirz (Mounjaro) in an attempt to stretch it out because pens cost so much (right now I take 10mg just once a month; for me the best response seems to come from 10mg every 10 days, and I really dislike how the food noise has suddenly become overpowering after 3 weeks without). One difference from you: Sema never worked for me for some reason, while Tirz worked extremely well.

Sorry to jump in on your comment BBA1969, but since I’m in the same situation, could I ask for your dosing advice: after 18 months on 10mg Tirz, would 4mg be too high as a Reta starting dose, or would 4mg not even produce any effect for me? It looks like everyone here begins at 2mg, but I doubt that would do anything in my case.

Hey @zxcvb123

My Mounjaro dosage was 7.5mg, drawn from a 15mg pen, and that alone brought the cost down. Each week I'd split it into 2 shots of 3.75mg.

Once I'd learned enough, I found a way into grey and picked up Tirz, Reta and a few other things.

My intention was to move fully to Reta, so I swapped out one of my weekly Tirz injections for 2mg of Reta. To put it mildly, it packed less of a punch than I'd hoped. I went to 3mg on the following shot, then 4mg a week later. That's the point where the positive effects kicked in.

Ultimately I never made a full switch to Reta—instead I run the two together.

2mg is the adjustment-phase starting dose; the first therapeutic dose is meant to be 4mg. If it were me, I wouldn't leap straight to a huge dose, but since you've already spent time on Mounjaro, moving up somewhat quicker than once every 4 weeks might be worth considering.

This is just what happened in my case, not advice 😉—you're a different person and your response could be different. None of the 15+ peptides I've researched ever gave me bad sides, and that isn't true for everyone.

Hey there,

So I've got some R that I picked up from another source, but I can't tell whether it's legit or not. Since I'm based in France, it's tricky to figure out—nearly all the information out there seems aimed at the US.

Up to now, sema is what worked best for me, I think. I had it prescribed and stayed on it for more than a year, dropped 35 lbs, then hit a plateau. That's when my dr. moved me over to tirz. I titrated up to 7.5 but instead of losing, I was putting weight back on. So the dr. told me to return to sema, except the cost has gotten to be more than I can keep up with, and I kept coming across mentions of R, which made me want to give it a shot.

At this point I'm interested in stacking R with sema, but tirz is available pretty much everywhere while sema isn't—especially in the area where I live. I hope what I'm trying to say comes across clearly enough that it doesn't get restricted. I've already had to trim it down a bit. No clue how to verify whether it's qualit-y.

By the way…thanks for getting back to me ☺️

Sema gave me what felt like my strongest result, though progress eventually flatlined… I’d been on the maximum Wegovy dose… after that, my doctor moved me over to mon jour no, and although I titrated up to 7.5, the scale kept creeping upward, so the doctor advised going back. While all that was happening, I picked up some Reta, but I suspect it may be bunk… even at 5 I notice nothing at all, and my weight has edged up further. I’m leaning toward trying a stack. Restrictions mean I can’t elaborate beyond that, but this is my current dosing situation

Sooner or later, everyone develops some degree of tolerance to GLP-1s. And it's worth remembering that for the majority of users, Tirzepatide does a better job at curbing appetite than Retatrutide, so upping your dose might be what's needed to finally see the results you're after.

Alternatively, you could combine it with Cagrilintide, Eloralintide, or Sema..... the options are endless.

Lots of different approaches have been covered on here many times already. What I'd suggest is looking into what others have gone through and figuring out which path suits you best.

Hey, I'm curious—how sure are you that your Reta was legit? If you're not feeling anything whatsoever, that could be the problem.
