Hey everyone, I’m new here and based in the UK. Mounjaro had been my treatment and it was doing a good job – it curbed my appetite, but it also seemed to bring down inflammation, which eased the pain in my hip. When the cost went up, I couldn’t justify it anymore, so I came off and tried to tough it out. That didn’t last: the food noise and hunger returned with a vengeance. I’ve since switched to Retatrutide pens, though they’re still on the expensive side.

I’m here to pick up whatever I can from others’ real-world experiences, plus any advice and pointers. By the way, I get the NY Times (I like to follow what’s happening in the US), and they put out a genuinely excellent podcast this weekend about GLP1s. It’s not preachy, just a well-balanced conversation – I’d suggest giving it a listen.

Happy to have joined 😎

Welcome aboard. MJ was part of my own journey too, though the recurring cost became too much for me to justify. These days I'm using grey tirz and have no regrets. If my weight loss ever plateaus in a big way, stacking with reta is something I'd likely try.

One thing worth knowing: reta doesn't have much of a reputation for easing inflammation or quieting food noise, so returning to Tirz or combining the two could give you the upside of each. Have a look around the forum for dosing approaches others use — typically they're spaced several days apart.

Thanks, I may give that a try — less hip pain is certainly a plus with triz!

I also used mounjaro and noticed it didn't only curb my appetite — my knee inflammation and pain went down as well... plus I dropped 2 stone, so carrying less weight probably eased the joints too. Now I'm thinking about going grey because the cost is simply out of reach for me

I get what you mean — going back to Triz instead of reta might be the move for me. Reta seems to bring on itchy skin for me, which I've read is a side effect, and on top of that Triz hits harder as an appetite suppressant. Wading into the grey does feel a little intimidating, but my hope is that folks in this community will have my back while I figure out how it all works.

The itchy skin thing hit me too — feels somewhat like a mild pre workout tingle. Irritating, though I can live with it.

I went with Reta after reading about good results for fatty liver, since a blood test of mine flagged a marker for it. That said, if I raise the dose and the itching turns nasty, I might rethink it 🤣

I got the itchy skin side effect, a bit like weak pre workout. Annoying but manageable.

Chose Reta due to seeing positive effects on fatty liver which i got a marker for on bloods but if i scale up dose and itching gets bad might reconsider 🤣

In my experience, taking it gradually works out better. I learned that lesson the painful way when I jumped from 2.5 to 5 within 2 weeks — it hurt! After dropping back down for 4 weeks and then increasing once more, things are going smoothly now 🙌

I think if you do it slowly it’s better, I found out the hard way by going from 2.5 to 5 in two weeks, it was sore! I went back down for 4 weeks and up again and it seems fine now 🙌

I began at just 0.5mg, intending to increase to 1mg, but I'm getting good results from microdosing alone.

Thanks for the podcast tip! I'd add the Zoe one as well - they covered GLP1s in a recent episode. It stood out because the questioning was so thorough: an independent researcher, university-based rather than on any seller's payroll, talking through glp1s in depth.
