Hey all, decided it was finally the right moment to write an introduction.

I’m 31, from the US, currently based in Bangkok. For roughly the past month I’ve been lurking here and doing a lot of reading before I actually got started.

My retatrutide journey began about 5 weeks ago. For the initial 2 weeks I used 2.5mg weekly, and at this point I’m at 5mg per week. Peptides are completely new to me, so this whole thing has been a learning curve.

Weight has been something I’ve dealt with my entire life. Back in my early 20s I dropped around 100 lbs, but as time went on I put back on about half of that, and since then my weight has been a constant struggle. Honestly, it’s the biggest factor holding my appearance back. Right now I’m sitting at about 110kg, and my aim is to reach the 85–90kg range and then truly keep it there over the long haul. For the moment I’m staying dialed in on reta because I’d rather do this the right way than jump between different things.

I’m hoping to meet others here who share the same mindset, people who’ve also battled with weight and are ready to do whatever it takes to get lean. My intention is to keep soaking up as much knowledge as possible here, particularly about reta and peptides overall. I’m committed to sorting this out and prepared to do whatever is necessary to ascend.

Excited to learn from all of you.

Hey man,

Welcome aboard!

I hear you on the lifelong weight loss struggle — it really gets rough when life throws a bunch of things at you all at once, and they pile up just enough to throw your fitness and weight loss efforts off track.

Good thing is, you've got the right attitude about never stopping learning. Who knows — you might discover something new about yourself!

also, can't wait to hear how your Reta journey goes!

You've got this man, best of luck!

Appreciate that, and I'm wishing you good results too—whether it's reta or something else you're on.

You already pulled this off once, so you're capable of doing it a second time — and this round you've got reta in your corner!

At the 5-week mark, how are you doing?

My appetite has dropped, though I don't believe any weight has come off so far. Right now I'm using 5mg vials and I think there are 5 remaining. My next order will be 10x 10mg vials, and once all five of the 5mg vials are finished I'll increase the dose, maybe going from 5mg up to 10mg. The downside has been awful side effects: foul-smelling burps, diarrhea, and a stomach that keeps rumbling

Do you track your weight on a scale? With Reta, the initial weeks tend to bring the biggest drop because of water loss, assuming the product is legit. That's how it goes for the majority. After that it should settle into a more gradual, steady decline, provided you respond well to it. Some individuals just don't get that response.

I had been tracking my weight, though it's been about 5-6 days since the last time because I'm not at home right now. My injection happened prior to my flight, and I'll be away from home for 2 weeks, which means there will be a week where I don't inject. After that, I'll go back to 5mg for 5 weeks, and then once my 10mg vials arrive I'll raise the dose

Separately, if I'd rather not jump straight to 10mg, how should I go about injecting 8mg? For example, I'd draw 8mg from the 10mg vial with my syringe, leaving 2mg behind for the following week. That means I'd need to use that 2mg, then pull another 6mg from a different vial. In that case, am I supposed to do 2 separate injections? What's the process when a single vial doesn't have enough reta and you need to draw from two vials?

It really comes down to how meticulous you want to be. In theory, since the peptides are at different ages, you'd do 2 separate injections — but if a 10 mg vial is being used up within a 2 week span, I wouldn't give it a second thought. My approach would be to move the remaining 2 mg into the fresh vial, then draw the whole 8 mg, and so on. That's just what I'd do, though.

As for Reta with decent BAC water, I don't start worrying until it passes the 30 day mark, and at that point I look for floaters or cloudiness — and I've still never run into an issue.

Let 5mg have time to do its thing — jumping straight from 5mg to 8mg might not be necessary. Even a 1mg increase can sometimes change things. I'm at week 10 and getting ready to move from 4mg up to 5mg.

Yeah, that's a fast ramp-up. I didn't catch that.

I might give that a shot. Does anyone have suggestions about my issue of needing to draw from 2 separate vials because 1 vial of reta ran out?

I replied. Since it's about a vial every 2 weeks, I'd simply mix them together and pull a full dose.

@Chilli777's point is spot on, I'm with them. If the vials came from the same batch or maker, were kept in the fridge, and haven't been mixed for an overly long time, then in my own case I'd just use it as 1 injection. Down the road, buying 15mg, 20mg or 30mg vials could line up better with the doses you need.

Jumping that much is a setup for rough side effects. Remember, reta's half-life sits around 6 days, so 5 weeks in with the fast ramp you've done means a steady-state level hasn't hit you yet. The usual advice is to stay at one dose for 4-5 weeks prior to going higher. Before you decide on any big increases, I'd strongly suggest running a GLP1 plotter so you can see your actual accumulated amount. (Type that phrase into the forum search and multiple solid plotter/tracker choices will come up.)

Welcome aboard, and best wishes. There's plenty of useful info and helpful people around here!

I appreciate that. Not sure whether I mentioned it, but for 4 weeks I've been taking 5mg, and I'll keep at 5mg weekly for another 5 weeks since I still have five 5mg vials. After that, I'll probably raise the dose with my next order. At that point maybe I'll go with 8mg rather than 10mg, similar to how trial participants took 8mg and saw good results.
