Hey everyone, fellow GLP1 explorers.

About a year has gone into my research on GLP1s, and April 2025 is when I actually started, after my naturopath brought it up. At first she wasn't sure, but once testing showed fatty liver along with high BP and cholesterol, she put forward the idea of giving the great big Reta a try. So anyway, within roughly 4 months the fatty liver had almost disappeared, and by now I've lost 16-17kgs too. I'm moving very slowly with it, not in a rush to raise the dose, though I'm thinking about adding cagri and glow/klow.

Support groups are hard to come by where I am, in Hong Kong, and on top of that, meds get approved slowly here.

Talk soon,

JF

Hong Kong? In your area, do people even refer to these as gray market peptides, or can you just buy them openly on the street? All in all, this is a GOOD spot to read up and ask questions that'll help you through what you're going through ... Glad to have you around, and WELCOME !!!

Nope — Hong Kong actually enforces things pretty firmly, with tight rules covering just about everything. CBD isn't even allowed. When the ban came in, hemp seeds vanished from health stores too🙄! As far as I know, Mounjaro only got approval last year....the whole process moves very slowly. Recently there's been a push against unauthorized pep sellers. And if you do go the "grey" route, the prices usually end up quite high. Personally, I'd love to see the mainland meds market opened up officially - their peps are so much cheaper. Ordering from the mainland is doable, yes. But it feels pretty risky.

Sadly, Cantonese/Mandarin isn't something I can speak or read, so joining local support groups is difficult even if they exist.

Do the authorities in Hong Kong handle these peptides the same way they handle hard drugs? I mean, could someone face the death penalty just for selling them?

Hey mate, saw that you're also based in HK. Nice work on how far you've come with Reta!

For your weekly reconstitution, do you go with BAC water or Sterile Water?

Getting either one here in HK is especially tough, in my experience

Not exactly, though the legal situation isn't clear-cut. From what I've been told, peptides fall outside regulation, yet they're labelled as "part 1 poison" — meaning registration is required and a prescription is mandatory. Take retatrutide: it isn't registered here, and according to Google, "Selling or possessing unregistered peptide products is a criminal offence. Penalties upon conviction can reach a fine of $100,000 and two years' imprisonment." Whether authorities actually crack down on personal possession, though...hard to say.

Then again, some pharmacies will hand over registered items without asking for a prescription — or so I've heard. Antibiotics can be obtained the same way.

My reta comes from a medical clinic, and they told me they hold import permits. So why would the government grant such a permit for something that hasn't been registered? Maybe because it's "research only," they bring it in under that label...and secure an exemption that way?

Hello! It ought to be BAC water. The clinic supplies it and does the reconstitution for me, though, so that part wasn't something I had to deal with.

Wow, that's really interesting -- I'm also based in HK and didn't know any clinics were giving out Reta. Welcome!
