Hi everyone, my journey began in June 2025 with Wegovy for 2 months. I got nothing but side effects and the scale didn't move. Then in August I moved over to Mounjaro and dropped some pounds, though nothing dramatic. My BMI was 36.4 when I began and it's 34.6 at this point. On top of that, I'm not tracking calories and I'm not doing any weight training.

You really ought to begin counting calories, if only to establish a starting point for your current intake. GLPs help a lot, yet they cannot overcome eating too many calories.

I began on Oct 11th and so far I've dropped just 15# — though that's on me. Aside from eating somewhat less, my diet hasn't changed. Working out hasn't been part of the picture either....Side effects have been basically nonexistent, except for the odd spell of nausea MAYBE. I'm looking into Tirz and sitting at 4mg since I'd rather take it slow and avoid maxing out. Might be dumb, but that's the route I've picked. 🫤 The reason I started researching was that my weight kept creeping up and I couldn't keep going like that. Plus I needed help with the food noise, and these days that's mostly under control.

Keeping an eye on what you eat is a must — aim for a daily deficit of 500-750 calories if you want the scale to move. On top of that, fit in a walk of at least 15-20 minutes each day, and once you feel ready, add lifting. Protein should be increased to .8-1g per pound of body weight. Also get 100 oz of water, or at least 2L, and then reap what you've worked for.

That dose is extremely small. Beginning at a low level is meant to reduce side effects while your system adjusts. Personally, I never made it to the maximum dose, though I did briefly touch 12.5. I looked into things every 5 days, increased "when necessary" and pulled back "when necessary". These days I rs 5-7.5mg every 7-10 days (or even more), and I'm still dropping weight gradually, which surprises me.

Could I ask which dose you're currently taking? It seems doctors bump up your dose even if it isn't required, and a few people genuinely do better at a lower dose. I introduced a very small weekly dose of sema and it significantly amplified what the tirzepatide was doing. The good thing about researching on your own is that you stay in charge of your choices. Keep reading whatever you can, there is so so much to absorb. The more you absorb, the smarter choices you can make on your own.

Wishing you the very best!

no ynb, glad to have you here. Stick with it, and start putting into practice the things you pick up on this site. GLP's affect each person in a different way. It's possible you fall into the group that requires larger doses than others do. Then again, maybe your lifestyle changes haven't gone far enough up to now. The GLP's won't handle everything on their own, so don't count on that. Doing your share is a must. There are no magic bullets. According to some, therapeutic benefits start once Mounjaro reaches 5mg. This forums has loads of useful information, along with many kind folks happy to share what they've been through. Best of luck.
