Hey everyone, my name is Joe. For over a year I was taking Trizepatide, and then my insurance company abruptly stopped covering it. The medication had a huge positive effect on my wellbeing — I dropped more than 30 pounds, was able to stop taking blood pressure medication, and saw my overall health get better.

Now it has been roughly 4 months since I stopped Tirzepatide, and I have put on a lot of weight and am taking BP meds once more. I filed appeals against the denial multiple times, but none were successful. During a recent visit, my doctor told me I satisfy every requirement for the Medicare Bridge Program for GLP-1, so he sent in the application — and I just found out it was rejected yet again because of the earlier denial, even though I meet the qualifications. Extremely frustrating!

Roughly a month ago, I purchased Tirzepatide through Facebook, sourced from China. The order was 10 vials, 5mg each. I have given myself 3 injections so far, spaced 5 days apart rather than a full week, but I have not felt any effects.

I am hoping to gain a lot of knowledge from this forum.

Thanks, Joe

This forum offers a lot of knowledge, but my first suggestion would be to stop buying anything "injectable" through facebook. You'll find plenty of resources here, so take the time to research and pick up lessons from the errors others have already gone through.

What dose were you taking before the insurance stopped covering it? And what dose are you on now?

Have you had that Tirz (the China purchase) analyzed? My hunch is that what you received could be counterfeit. Here's why - I'm not trying to alarm you, but you're the only person I've come across who said they got it via Facebook, and 5mg of Tirz isn't a typical amount, at least in my experience. Usually the minimum is 10mg/vial. Nearly all grey market sellers and suppliers operate on other platforms - certainly not somewhere as open as Facebook.

You'd need to ship a vial off to a lab that tests peptides. A few of these are pretty well known. I'd rather not mention any company names in this space, but a fast search for testing should turn up those companies' names right on page 1 of the results.

Appreciate it, but I doubt I'll be obtaining any additional amounts through that route,

There are many labs that can test your compounds, some accredited and some not, they all range in price.
Could you suggest a specific one? I've got plenty of vials left that I can send for testing.
Janoshik has a solid reputation.

I checked Janoshik.com a moment ago, and the price shown for the test is $360. That seems really steep to me. Is that roughly the going rate, or can I find testing services that cost less? Thanks

Jumping straight from Zepbound to Facebook Grey feels like a huge step. Because you're located in the US, my recommendation is to visit r/tirzepatidecompound, check the pinned "where to buy" thread listing legal US compound pharmacies, and use that to get yourself back to a steady place. In parallel, begin your thorough exploration of grey research both here and on STG. Welcome aboard, and best of luck!

Zipp - hopefully this doesn't count as source discussion. If that's how you all see it, go ahead and remove it.

Janoshik gets my vote as well. Freedom Diagnostics and Vanguard round out the list of trustworthy testing services.

What was the total amount across those 3 injections? Reaching your previous dose would require 2 vials for each injection.

My doctor advised me to begin again at a reduced dose and gradually increase, rather than going straight to what I used before. I had been off the medication for 3-4 months. At the moment I'm at 5mg.

At this point, that dose might be quite small for you. Most likely, it won't produce any noticeable effect.

That could be the case. My first dose was 5mg and nothing happened, so I switched to injecting every 5 days rather than once a week. When I told the seller, they swore the trz was fine and told me to send it for testing, promising a free kit next time. Given that I used to be on 10 mg, perhaps 5mg just isn't enough.

Glad you're here 🤗

Buying through FB sounds really risky. Good thing you haven't run into any trouble. Fingers crossed the results start showing up soon and you find higher-quality products.

While I was waiting on insurance, I turned to gray. The result was that my labs dropped across the board, my a1c fell out of diabetic range, and insurance then denied tirz for me. My blood pressure also went down, and if this trend holds I'll be off 1 medication before long. Reta is what I'm using at the moment. I hope that by being here you're able to return to it. Research thoroughly. I don't want to say anything incorrect, but I've seen a handful of posts from folks who paused and then resumed, so be sure to search those out and see what might be useful. Best of luck getting back on track.
