Hi all,

Male, 40s (early), based on the US West Coast.

For 10 years now I've been working on getting my mind and body into better shape. Right now that means TRT plus a bunch of OTC supplements. A friend mentioned a few weeks back that he'd started retaturutide, and after that I kept seeing it pop up all over the place — YouTube recommendations, X, you name it.

I looked into it a bit and it seems like this could be what finally helps me get rid of some extra lbs. My target is 205. My diet is already mostly clean and I've trimmed my calories somewhat, yet my weight refuses to budge — it just sits at the same number. So my thinking was: a low dose of retatrutide, .5mg per week for roughly 4 weeks, then 1mg per week for 4 weeks, followed by 1.5mg per week for another 4 weeks, combined with the exercise I already do, might be just the thing.

Anyway, happy to be part of this place. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can and eventually giving something back too.

Here's to all of us hitting our targets!

good to meet you, I'm on the West Coast too and the same age. Right now I'm using tirz since reta makes me uneasy because of my afib, though I do have some reta and I'm thinking about trying it at a very low dose.

My path mirrors yours.. retatrutide, beginning at .5mg weekly for roughly 4 weeks, then 1mg weekly over the past 8 weeks. I have not increased since my appetite is under control and I am losing gradually. I am also taking KLOW plus additional KVC for some inflammation problems.

What has your energy been like? And how much weight have you dropped up to now?

My plan is to begin in 1-2 weeks. I am tweaking my TRT protocol slightly, so I have to let that stabilize first. That leaves me some time to decide whether to pick up a kit, or simply get 1 vial to begin, which should cover a 3-4 month reta run.

afib is something I deal with too — an ablation in 2021, and nothing since then. I'm in my late 50s, began Reta 2 weeks back, and I'm taking it extremely slow. The 1st dose was 0.25. Week 2 was 0.5, and roughly 15-20 minutes afterward I had some fluttering that lasted around 1 hour. Next week's 0.75 dose has me a bit anxious. For heart support I take Magnesium Glycinate and CoQ-10 every day, and I might take extra before pinning.

no afib episodes since 2021 — that's fantastic! as for me, i've undergone 3 ablations, and there's only been 1 episode since the latest one 1.5 years back. sadly it looks like genetics are against me and my case is aggressive. every day i'm on sotalol and eliquis, and i'm not even 45 yet!

tirzepatide, however, has been a game changer for me. after dropping 65 lbs, my latest cardiac labs are the best they've ever been, and last november my labwork showed severe metabolic and cardiac issues. i'm very thankful for tirzepatide, so even if reta has to be stopped, other excellent glp1 choices exist.

This study is worth a look — it demonstrated that supplementing with l-taurine and l-arginine may lower or even get rid of arrhythmias. For me, l-taurine seems to make my response to reta more steady.

This YT clip covers l-taurine and reta.
