Greetings from Pennsylvania!

I'm 43 years young — or at least that's my story. Truth is, I don't feel it these days. On some days I'd swear I'm pushing 60! LOL.

More than 20 years of my life have gone into martial arts training, and that includes a stretch of several years competing in the cage. The past two years, though, have felt like running straight into that brick wall everyone talks about.

How I wish I'd found this forum a few years back, before my meniscus surgery. Roughly a year ago I also had AC joint surgery on my shoulder, and that recovery has been a rollercoaster. These days my other shoulder has started popping — my guess is it's from overcompensating all this time.

Family matters pulled me away from training for a while, and somewhere in that stretch I put on a solid 30 pounds. Being back in the gym has shown me exactly how much I've lost. Cardio is basically gone, my speed isn't what it was, and injuries that used to clear up fast now linger forever. Which means even more time out of training, and the cycle just gets worse.

As for motivation? Some days it's completely missing, and that's with two little kids tearing around keeping me busy!

In case anyone's curious, my total testosterone came back at 396 last month.

I'm happy I finally came across this forum. I've done a lot of reading recently, and one topic keeps pulling me toward the next. All that digging, plus some interesting "pep" chatter, is what led me here in the end.

I'm not chasing 25 again at this point in my life. What I'd like is to regain some of what's slipped away: recovery, energy, mental clarity, motivation, and the ability to lose this stubborn belly fat. Of course, that's exactly where most of those extra 30 pounds landed. Irish genes, go figure! And no, I don't even drink beer. LOL.

The brain fog is another source of frustration. Cutting weight for competitions used to be no big deal, but wholly hell, things have changed! Could be stress, could be age, could be all of it together. Whatever the cause, the scale refuses to move. I've stopped gaining, but I'm definitely not losing.

I've been looking into a number of peptides and compounds that might address some of what I'm dealing with, among them:

  • BPC-157
  • TB-500
  • NAD+
  • Ipamorelin
  • CJC-1295
  • Trizepatide
  • AOD-9604

I've also been reading up on stacks versus running single compounds. Some discussions I've seen suggest that buying individual vials gives you more control over purity and dosing, though I'm still working out the differences.

I'm no expert on any of this, which is part of why I'm here. I'd love to hear from people with more knowledge and experience, particularly anyone who has faced similar setbacks with recovery, weight management, energy, and getting back to training after years of wear and tear.

Anyway, apologies for the long intro and all the rambling. Thanks to anyone who read the whole thing, and I'm looking forward to learning from the group.

Thanks, everyone!
