Hello all,

Happy to be part of this community. I'm 48 years old and my full-time job is as a firefighter and in EMS. Endurance has to be solid for this line of work—dragging heavy bunker gear to calls is no joke. For cardio, the stair climber is my go-to (running isn't something I like to do), but I want to push my body composition and performance even further.

Right now I'm around 22-24% body fat. When it comes to GLP-1 peptides, I have no background at all, so before I commit to anything my priority is to really understand how they function. From what I've read so far, Retatrutide stands out as something I want to look into more.

I'm here to go through everyone's experiences, pick up what I need to know, and work out the best way forward prior to beginning any protocol. Excited to dig into the threads and learn as much as I can!

Also coming from the first responder world.

I don't have a ton of knowledge to share, but here's what I went through. My starting point was compounded Sema, then I moved over to Tirz Peptide.

A peptide is just a short amino acid chain. Your body relies on amino acids as the raw material for building proteins. Picture them as tiny couriers delivering a specific job order to your system.

If proteins are the whole instruction book, then peptides are brief notes carrying one direct instruction or function.

That instruction might be: grow muscle, torch fat, boost collagen, curb appetite, manage blood sugar, and so on — sort of like unseen motivational words.

For instance, the Tirz peptide tells the body to put out insulin after meals, makes digestion take longer, and dials down hunger.

I've been lurking around here on and off for well over a year now. Since weight loss is what brought you in, and I noticed Reta caught your eye, I'd also take a look at Sema (people sometimes just call it "S", or GLP-1) plus Tirzepatide (sometimes T, GLP-2, or GLP-1 T). As with anything, results and reactions vary from person to person. I used to hold back on that until it clicked that this isn't much different from the brand-name pharmaceuticals - those side-effect lists exist for a reason..

My own start was reading every forum and sorting what I found into buckets - vendors, methods, supplies, peptide types (Sema, Tirz, Reta, or other options if weightloss isn't your target). What struck me first was going back to roughly 2023-2024 and watching the same information keep resurfacing. Things have come and gone across the years, and I ended up striking plenty off my list for assorted reasons.

The main takeaway: the information reads a little cryptic on purpose. Begin by jotting down the recurring things you keep bumping into - from there, extra detail such as sites, emails and various groups starts falling into place, and you are probably on the right track. Reading, patience and the search bar are your friends.

Go slowly, because there is a lot to take in. Whatever you do, don't skip over the crypto section. And if you're new to crypto, ai played a big part in getting me going.
