Hi all! After about a month of reading quietly, I finally chose to become part of this community. I'm 41, female, and a mother to a 4 year old, and my goal is simply to reclaim my health and my body. For the last 4 years as a single parent, I put myself on the back burner and poured everything into my child. Now I feel ready to focus on my own well-being again. I want the body and health I had before pregnancy back. Even though I've dropped a fair amount of weight over those 4 years, I still have roughly 25lbs left to lose. On top of that, my cholesterol went high while I was pregnant, and my LDL remains slightly elevated despite eating well, getting plenty of fiber daily, and doing low impact workouts.

During pregnancy I put on 65lbs. I enjoy food, and whenever nausea wasn't hitting me, I ate whatever I craved.

5'5" SW: 150lbs, Weight at end of pregnancy: 214lbs, CW: 164lbs, Goal weight: 140lbs

That's a bit about me. I'm thrilled to begin this new chapter and see how it unfolds! My main interest has been Reta, and I've mostly been active in that forum. Today I contacted my 1st vendor, and I'm ready to get things moving ☺️

Began on April 1st, dosing 1mg each 5 days. On April 26th I moved up to 1.5mgs. Today marks my 10th pin, and I've just increased to 2mgs!

So far I'm down 17.6lbs. My guess is that most of that fast loss in month 1 was water weight.

Appetite is still there for me, and the suppression isn't as powerful as it was after pin #1. Food noise ebbs and flows, tending to return the day before my next pin (still on a 5 day schedule).

All in all, I'm pleased with how things are going! Halfway to my goal weight now, and the loss has settled into a slow but steady pace of a little over 1lb weekly.

I've got a physical and bloodwork coming up this week, so I'm eager to see what the results show.

With reta I've noticed hunger is still there, yet I fill up way quicker (that was the problem for me). I'm on 1mg two times per week and so far it's working well. Wishing you the best as you move forward. Seems like solid, consistent progress up to now.

Same for me, at 2mg the appetite suppression is mild yet the scale keeps moving. 3rd week in now
If the number on the scale keeps dropping, that works for me! My plan is to hold at 2mg for another 4 weeks at minimum, then reassess. Staying on a smaller dose and losing weight gradually, yet consistently, is what I'd prefer.

Has anything unpleasant happened for you in terms of side effects?

What I've picked up on lately (since it's now past 4 weeks and the medication is completely in my system) is this: whenever I eat less than 3 hours before going to sleep, I wake up during the night with heartburn. I assume that ties into the slower digestion aspect, so I've started having dinner earlier.

Fatigue has also been an issue for me, though there could be other things contributing, so I can't say for sure whether the reta is the cause.

As far as I can tell, I haven't experienced any side effects. A few people mention that it takes about a month for retatrutide to accumulate in the body.

Same here. I stay at a dose that's just enough to settle the food noise so I can keep pushing forward. Around 14 down over 7-8 weeks.

My blood test results came in, and my cholesterol now sits in the Normal range!

Reta is absolutely goated 🥳 It makes me so happy since starting statins was something I hoped to avoid. My LDL remains slightly elevated, though it has fallen considerably.
