Hey all. My main reason for joining is to explore weight loss meds so I can improve my health and feel more like my old self. My second daughter just arrived, and with my wife and me on opposite work schedules, staying active and cooking healthy meals is really tough. It’s either work or childcare for me. Still, it’s a blessing, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

How I got here: I first attempted the official insurance path for weight loss medication. That fell through, and a subscription provider service gave me an awful experience. So I began researching compounds, then peptide sites, and finally landed here, where I found resources to place an order far cheaper than any other route.

My main focus here is talking about safety and making sure I’m handling risks during this journey. Suppose I’ll need a photo and a catchy line for my signature before long 😂

Safety-wise, going slow matters a great deal. I don't claim to be an expert, and being Australian means my choices are fewer, but here are some broad pointers.

On the vendor side, favor those with recent user testing. It's nice to assume every vendor will always post up-to-date test results, but verify when you're able to. Some vendors are essentially reshippers, so quality can shift a lot from one purchase to the next.

For a first research run, increase the dose gradually. A smaller dose means a smaller reaction. Reta hit me badly; had I started at full strength, I suspect it would have been far worse (I'm among those who develop allodynia with reta). You may not reach the full effect as fast, but easing in genuinely has value. Personally, I'd rather split doses to daily or every other day than take them weekly. Others lean toward 1 large weekly dose. There's probably a "best" approach, but this area is still fairly new.

Having a medical professional involved is always preferable if you can manage it. In some places that's hard, particularly when you aren't buying inside the system they practice in. My doctor knows about my research, though some doctors would strongly resist helping or even being kept informed.

Still, I think the biggest thing is to treat yourself kindly and accept that even with medication, weight loss is hard and it's a journey with highs and lows. Take care of yourself, and where possible, keep unsupportive people out of your immediate environment.

Really solid tips. This community has helped me pick healthier foods, watch my portions, and add more variety. It also pushed me to work out more.

I just hopped on Reta earlier this week. I've tried Semi, and Tirz, ready to try Reta and see what all the hype is about.

Because the side effects concerned me, I figured tirz would be the best option for that.

Thanks for all the pointers! Really useful. Yeah, slow and steady is fine with me. Safety matters a lot, after all. I’m leaning toward following what you said and bringing a Dr into this. I’m okay with telling them what I’m up to, just not every detail. What was your Dr’s reaction? Did they ask for extra visits? Or additional labs?

For me, combining Cagri with Sema has been the most effective way to quiet food noise.

Since my wife is already weirded out by this whole thing, I'll stay on tirz. That way I can at least tell her it was prescribed but insurance wouldn't pay. Mixing in other stuff would just create problems. And hiding it from her isn't something I could do anyway. She's a good one, and being upfront keeps things easy and my life in a good place.

My wife supports whatever choice I make, though she's used MJ in the past and would rather stick with Tirz at this point. That works for me since it's producing good results.
