Hello everyone. Male, 54 yo, and my weight loss story began in October 2024 when the scale said 300 lbs. Diet and exercise carried me as low as 230 pounds, yet I spent that time tired and sore.

My workout schedule got shuffled around endlessly in search of the right work-to-recovery balance, and I never did crack it. Bloodwork came back showing low T, so I put the question to my PCP. Naturally she said no, it was these other things instead. That kicked off months of back and forth with zero improvement in my symptoms. Even with 2 more sets of bloodwork confirming low Test levels she wouldn't write a TRT prescription, so the clinic route it was.

TRT began in January and some weight came with it, which I'm told is common at the start, and then work threw changes at me that raised my stress levels. Stress eating is my pattern. Smoking was my crutch back in my 20's; when I quit, food took its place, which explains the 300 pounds.

TRT plus stress eating pushed me back up to 245 pounds, so I asked my TRT physician whether anything existed that could help with the stress eating. Trizepatide (sp?) was his suggestion, at a price of $1200 for 2 months.

That figure was nowhere near affordable, so I went online for some basic research and started listening to podcasts. Reta is what I learned about there, and after eventually stumbling onto a reseller I got going. Week 4 starts soon, 1mg a week is my dose, and I have no plans as of now to raise it, because the Reta seems to be doing exactly what I wanted. Meals still happen, but between them I'm not reaching for food, and my weight is heading back down.

Anything and everything I can find on Reta and GLP-1's still gets read and listened to, and word recently reached me that this site is a fantastic resource. So here I am.

Nice to meet ya'll
