Hi!

vehura, from Melbourne, 23 y/o. Weight has been a fight since age 16, and COVID is when the binge eating began - 25kgs heavier, my heaviest point ever. Change was needed, so the gym began, and roughly 15 kg came off across a year, aided by a chaotic schedule, some fairly poor food choices, and hard restriction of what I ate.

Then last year: gym still happening (powerlifting, mostly), yet my eating had drifted right back to the way it looked at 18. Exercise made no difference - another 10kgs landed, because of junk food eaten out of pure habit and portions that ran large. Controlling myself around food has always felt impossible unless self-hatred is driving it, and a serious sweet tooth does not help the picture.

On paper GLPs stay out of reach off-label - no co-morbidities, BMI sitting under the bar. It is climbing slowly, though. Retatrutide is in week two now, doses kept small, and a handle on food has appeared for the first time ever. Junk food lying around has stopped calling my name. Dinner out the other night: full before the plate was empty, and still able to enjoy what I like, minus the guilt, the shame, the constant noise, the sense of having overdone it. Where that leaves me is genuinely hopeful - not over the scale alone, but because the buzz food used to carry went quiet, for once. Others walking the same road are exactly who I want to hear from!
