Manufacturers in Other Countries

I prefer as clean as drugs as I can afford plus I react to certain ingredients. I routinely contact US manufacturers to see what its made of. I've only had one that never returned my calls or emails and one that gave me wrong info and I had a reaction to it. The US makes micronized progesterone with peanut oil. I contacted a few manufacturers whose goods were being sold on India to see what it is made out of and only one out of 4 got back to me and said it's confidential information. Seriously? I'm not asking for their secret recipe. Anyone with allergies have any tips to get international companies to respond? Do they not provide this info to patients in other countries?

Not having any known allergies, I would ask you to forgive my ignorance on this; but I do have a few thoughts.

Could you not tell them your allergies and hope that they give you an honest reply?

Also, I am not sure what you are wanting to buy; but sadly often times tests do come back with ingredients that are added or missing to the listed. If the allergies are severe it seems like it is dangerous to deal in gray.

If this is india pharma; you might get a real answer from a trusted rep.

I first asked them for a list of ingredients as the US does have a drug database with ingredients and that's when they said it was confidential information. I then wrote back explaining that I have allergies and would like to know what kind of oil they use or do they use something else and crickets. Even when I ask US companies I have to first explain about allergies otherwise they blow me off or tell me to ask my doctor who doesn't have the time to do this. When I pick up drugs at the pharmacy the pharmacist also does not know whats in them. They tell me to call the manufacturer as well. Its really sad. So many ingredients can be derived from multiple sources. If its a starch it can be made from corn, tapioca, wheat etc. so if the bottle says starch you don't know what it is derived from until you ask. I don't have severe allergies so I'm not going to die but I do end up throwing hundreds of dollars away on products that make me sick. I didn't know if other countries go about this in another way. Alot of hormones are made with seed oil in the US even alot of compounding pharmacies use them

I did ask a few reps and they said they have no way of knowing....I did not have any known allergies either until one day my heart was racing, i had insomnia and was very slightly itchy. It took 2 years and a functional MD to figure it out and it was all food related.

I found out that the brand of metformin I had been taking for two months didn't have exactly the same list of excipients as those from other manufacturers. I switched to a different brand, and the itching stopped.
