I have been so sick for 3 days. I am extremely exhausted, nauseous, muscle and joint aches. It's sometimes hard to figure out which it is because some of the symptoms overlap. I usually start a tapering dose of steroids like my rheumatologist tells me to do. But I'm having surgery next Tuesday or the next. So I'm not going to until I talk to my surgeon and rheumatologist.

I was so sick yesterday I didn't think I was going to make it in the house from the car. The heat really flares up my lupus.

Would they still go ahead with the op if you were having a lupus flare, or a virus? A basic blood test and inflammatory markers like crp might be able to tell which one it is? Which might be useful in deciding to go ahead or not.

Well, if it is a virus it would hopefully be gone in 2 weeks come surgery time Ave that would answer it. I can relate though. Lupus is debilitating when a flare hits. Can you get some pee dip strip tests for testing things like microalbumin, protein, leukocytes etc? Those always help me pin point a flare because all the bad things are positive on those strips when I'm in one. I get a 7 or 10 way test (can't remember exactly but I'll link it if you're interested) from Amazon, same thing they use at doctors offices.

Otherwise without knowing either way,

I'd just encourage you to stay hydrated and keep eating if you can and rest as much as you're able. I'm so sorry 🙁

I'm still not doing well. My husband is making me go to er. I'm drinking plenty of water but can't eat. I throw up and have horrible diarrhea. My mom thinks I have the vegetable virus. For the life of me I can't remember what it's called. I don't see how though because I haven't ate any fresh vegetables for a couple weeks.

I do think it's beyond a lupus flare.

I hope they’re able to diagnose & treat you! I’m glad you have a good husband looking out for you. Oh Teresa…I wish you the best. Things haven’t been easy for you lately. Big hugs.

Thank you. They said it's a virus that will have to run it's course.

Things are never really easy for me but I'm blessed. I have a wonderful husband and family. I also have great Drs. I just take everything as it comes. One day at a time sweet Jesus.
