Losing the thrill of it yet?

Huzzah, someone I can relate to 😂😂 I still love my peptides and reading the odd thread but the hyperfixation part of it has shifted to other stuff, as it always does!!

The older I get, the harder it is to choose what I hyperfixate on. With that said, I'm still wondering if SEMAX/ADAMAX/MOTsC will help with my inability to focus...well...my focus. 😛

I'm sitting here with my leg elevated after surgery this morning.

What did you have done? Ant rehab involved? I feel you though. I had my right shoulder replaced 1-1/2 years. They eating with the left hand sucked, and the worst was learning to wipe my butt left handed, that's all I saying about that one. It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Rehab was a riot one week after surgery. Get normal soon.

I've lost the thrill of researching and interacting here on the forum because I've mostly exhausted what is useful to me. But I haven't lost the desire to use the peps. I've had such a good response from Bpc157 especially and I also like NAD+ so I'm still pinning daily. But yeah since I haven't desired to be a 'cool kid' here, I've lost the thrill of checking messages and responding to things. Rather live in the real life.

I spend a good amount of time reading older threads from a few months ago. You are struck with the turnover of the "cool kids" here. People who were active a few months ago are often quiet now. There definitely seems to be a participant arch. Maybe past participants have achieved their goals and have a freezer already full of peppers.

Ever feel like after you’ve been doing this for some time it loses the thrill? I used to scour forums and price check shit on the daily. Sometimes multiple times a day. Anymore I come to my go to info spots to look and it’s all the same, same questions and topics that can be searched multiple places. I dont think I could soak up much more info or got it in me to give advice on things anymore. I used to be so consumed !

I get it - but after lots of logistical issues over the past six months after six months the of forum lurking, I finally got to start with PIN number one today, so there are still lots of “thrills” to be had. Thank you to you and this forum for tolerating all of us just getting started and being helpful and supportive.

I think when you have spent as much time and energy as you have in research mode, it's a normal decline in interest. One way to fire your excitement again is to help others. Spending time answering questions and helping new folks understand is a great way to keep engaged.

I went all in when I first found this forum. After putting up with a year of nausea from low dose not that cheap prescribed ozempic just so I could be a little less hungry finding this place was a godsend. And being able to use whatever dose I wanted without it being stupidly expensive, as the legit version of tirz here was $690 aud/month, which I could not afford even though my doctor was happy to prescribe it. It seemed way too good to be true and I never really believed until I had my first dose of pirate tirz and it caused the same louder tinnitus as the real one.

Then I spent at least a month on google scholar looking up every single peptide on the price lists and making extensive notes, trying to work out what had good evidence it worked and what didn't and in general being a bit disappointed that so few of the most interesting sounding ones had good human trial data. And doing endless comparisons of the different vendors and their prices and peoples recommendations.

And then got to experiment with doses ( I had already kept the weight off for 2 years by this point, but had been hungry pretty much the whole time from 145kg to 75kg ) And found I was still a bit hungry on tirz 15mg but had almost zero side effects so added reta 5mg to it, which was very close to ideal, and I ended up very slowly losing weight down to 64kg over the next year without having to be hungry the whole time, eventually added in a bit of cagri as well. And collected 5 years worth of reta/tirz just in case.

But now I do not really need to lose any more weight, at a BMI of 23, pretty much middle of the normal range, being fitter with a bit more muscle and a bit less fat might be better, but considering the starting point, I am very happy, and even more so that it looks like it might be possible to keep the weight off forever, without having to be permanently hungry. As opposed to putting the weight back on like every other time I lost weight. Not much else to do now, other than keep going and not put weight back on.

The only new and exciting thing happening is eloralintide being available so I might try it instead of cagri, and might be able to use it to drop the reta/tirz dose a bit, but not quite the same novelty factor as when I first found this site and the whole cheap chinese peptides thing. And reading thousands of papers on all the GLPs and other peptides.

Staying on diets in the past always required a fairly extreme narrow obsessive focus to stick to it long enough to get results, but now that is just not really needed, just need to have a few injections every couple of days, and not eat large amounts of junk food.

Such great points! It's the "fairly extreme narrow focus" piece that I think folks don't grasp when they're impatiently yelling at us to just diet and exercise. There's a number of us that can't do anything else while we're dieting bc of food noise requiring constant vigilance. Most of us have other interests and it's just not rewarding enough to give up our entire interior lives to calories, yet that's the kind of obsession any weight loss required before GLP1.

Now it's possible to lose weight and exercise without signing over our brains to dietlandia . . . never thought I'd see the day. I'm so grateful.

I've never been a cool kid, and that includes my time here. I still have no idea what I should do to access the world of GBs, which I'd like to do. I've been testing my own buys and it gets expensive quickly, especially when the result is "ND." Not all vendors make good on those buys, though some do. It's a funny old life!
