I could be totally mistaken, but isn't this meant for "slow emptying bowel" instead of being a weight loss or diabetes management drug?

The actual indication is short bowel syndrome. That sounds awful.

SBS is an uncommon disorder marked by losing over 60% of the small intestine, whether from congenital reasons or other triggers. Per Hanmi, it occurs in roughly 24.5 per 100,000 newborns worldwide, and adults can also develop it after operations for inflammatory bowel disease, tumors or similar problems.

Still, Hanmi and EL label it a GLP1. It is a monthly injection, which I would bet draws interest from individuals who dislike needles.
