Some walks you just have to take alone. Unfortunately, my friends are either really fat and don't want to partner and talk about change and take action or they are very thin and fit and don't think I can or will do it. Therefore, I'm either around folks that I can't talk to at all about it cuz they wanna stay as they are or folks that say dumb shit like why now? Really, you're gonna do it this time? or Even worse...I had one of my closest buddies bet me that I WOULDN'T hit the goal I said I would hit by Nov 4th.

Wifey is 5'3"--started Wegovy at 200lbs and is 145lbs now. She is not someone that will talk either. She says shit like, just do it, no need to talk about it. She took Wegovy without me knowing over the course of a year and hid it the whole time. I took her to the emergency room for massive cramps and she still didn't tell me. Only after I ordered Tirz a year later did she confess. I often say to her that I need to share my excitement, my achievements and I need to do this to stay motivated and focused and she still can't stop the negative comments and questions. I think she wants me to be healthy, but not fit and fine. Which is kinda sad to say out loud, even to strangers on the internet that don't know me. She's judgy and only offers a list of don't do's and you aren't doing this or that or you're gonna hurt yourself, etc... I'll just keep researching online and share here and motivate myself and keep moving forward.

It really is just YOU GUYS HERE ON GLP1 and ME! I'm so thankful for this group. I get to talk about my journey, my goals and be proud of each step while hearing other stories from like-minded people.

Here are pics of the home gym I set up today. I already had all the equipment, I just rearranged it better and took literally 6" of floor space in the middle for my bench instead of it being against the wall. She still has tons of room on the pad to do yoga. Wifey has gone in there for years to meditate with green and do yoga. She's furious with me now and we likely won't talk for days because I need my bench in the middle. I am 6'3", my wingspan is huge and I am now using this equipment to better my life. She is furious but she's just gonna have to be furious, cuz that shit isn't moving an inch. I'm gonna use the equipment and increase my mobility and better my life...PERIOD!

I hope you guys have support systems, but for those that don't, please know you may feel alone, but you aren't. You can DM me any time for a positive message or support. Here are pics of my home gym...my place of peace from here forward.

Thank you for sharing your story, I'm sure many people are in similar situations as yourself. Continue to prioritize your health even if your close ones put you down for it. We are here not only for advice but for support as well. DM's always open too 💪

Lone ranger here as well, it can be challenging but it is great to have like minded people to interact with.

Change can be tough, whether good or bad, just have to keep on going.

The good news is you are either adding quality or quantity to your life, likely both.

I was a muscle-head, and athlete that worked out 5 days a week from 12-13yrs old until I was about 40. I’m 55 now. At least I know how to workout and I’m hoping to have some muscle memory and great response based on my knowledge of my body. It would be nice if those closest to me were completely on board and encouraging, but I don’t have to have it. I will say my best friend of 40yrs is a great guy that is in lock-step with me through this or anything else I need. He lives several states away. I guess I do have ONE though! lol

I made it sound like my wife isn’t a good wife. Far from the truth. She’s a wonderful person and wife. I don’t expect her to do all things for me. It’s important to make sure we ask people for what they have. She just doesn’t have what I need on this journey, so I will walk my path for myself while being with her.

I did not take it that way.

She sounds like she likes things a certain way and is somewhat private, may be mourning the loss of her meditation room.

But all of her choices cannot be bad, she picked you.. 😛

I get it, just dealing with the changes

Everything that’s in the room was in there already. I didn’t add even one thing more. I simply moved the bench to the middle which is 6” longer than what was there. That’s what makes it so ridiculous. She’s just a fiery woman to say the least. Love that spirit but it becomes a lot to deal with over tiny stuff that actually have reasoning. The space on the pad is the same as it was. It just works for both of us now.

I'm ridin solo as well. My wife is disabled and really can't do anything but she lets me blab on about my peptide journey and doesn't try to get in my way. I have started to tell others what I am doing, but I don't get into any deep conversations about it. I would encourage my wife more to consider a glp1 but she already doesn't eat much and takes a handful of medicine daily. She still has a small amount of tumor left in her spinal cord so I am too afraid to put anything in her that might regenerate a dormant tumor. I have a small shed with a functional trainer in it (Planet Fatness) but my treadmill has been the backbone of my exercise routine. Keep grindin man, and stay connected to the folks that are on the same path as you here in the forum.

Same. This is the only place I talk about any of this stuff.

I did get my Dad interested in the Medicare GLP-1 bridge program, so maybe he will talk to his Dr about it soon and I will have somebody around me who understands.

I haven't told a single soul about the peps other than my wife. I've only discussed my goals, food plan, other supplements and my workout regime. Sometimes it feels like a little secret that I keep that I don't want to tell because I don't want to have to explain over n' over what pep I'm taking and why I'm taking it. Also, people often look at it as "cheating" to reach your goals. It's like they want to take the progress and minimalize it to a point that shows you as weak or that you didn't have to do anything other than stick yourself.

It's waaaaaaay more than a shot involved to make these changes. The shot just gives you some help, confidence and strength to stay on task. We still have to put the work in. No one can take a shot and still eat exactly what they ate before and live the exact same way they did before and lose weight, gain flexibility, mobility, strength, mental clarity and focus, etc... These changes come from commitment and hard work!
