Certain paths can only be walked solo. My circle is split into two camps: those who are extremely overweight and have zero interest in finding a buddy, discussing transformation, or making moves, and those who are super lean and athletic and doubt I'll ever follow through. So I'm stuck either with people I can't bring it up around at all because they're content as they are, or people who throw out lines like "why bother now?" "Seriously, this is the time you'll actually stick with it?" or worse still... one of my best friends actually wagered against me that I would NOT reach the target I promised by Nov 4th.

My wife stands 5'3"--she began Wegovy at 200lbs and currently sits at 145lbs. She isn't the talking type either. Her response is basically, quit talking and just get it done. She went on Wegovy behind my back for a full year and kept it secret the entire time. I rushed her to the ER for severe cramping and even then she said nothing. It was only after I got Tirz a year afterward that she came clean. I tell her often that I need to voice my enthusiasm, my wins, and that this sharing keeps me driven and on track, yet she still can't hold back the criticism and probing questions. My guess is she wants me healthy, but not lean and looking good. Saying that out loud feels pretty grim, even to anonymous people online who've never met me. She's critical and only hands me a list of things not to do and you're failing at this or that or you'll end up hurting yourself, etc... I'll simply continue my own research online, post here, push myself, and keep progressing.

It truly comes down to just YOU FOLKS RIGHT HERE ON GLP1 and ME! This community means so much to me. I can discuss my path, my targets, and take pride in every milestone while absorbing others' experiences from people who get it.

Below are photos of the home gym I put together today. I already owned every piece of equipment, I just reorganized it more efficiently and claimed literally 6" of floor space in the center for my bench rather than leaving it pushed against the wall. She still has plenty of room on the mat for yoga. For years my wife has used that space to meditate with green and practice yoga. Right now she's livid with me and we probably won't speak for days all because I need my bench centered. I stand 6'3", my arm span is massive, and I'm finally putting this gear to work improving my life. She's angry, but that's her problem, because that setup isn't budging an inch. I'm going to train on it, gain mobility, and upgrade my life...PERIOD!

I wish everyone here has a support network, but if you don't, remember that feeling alone doesn't mean you are. My DMs are open anytime if you need a kind word or encouragement. Here are pics of my home gym...my sanctuary from now on.

Thanks for telling us your story — I bet plenty of folks find themselves in the same boat. Keep putting your health first, even when those close to you criticize you for it. This place exists for support, not just tips. My DMs are open anytime too 💪

Flying solo over here too — it's not always easy, yet having folks who share the same mindset to connect with makes a real difference.

Whether the shift is for better or worse, transformation is never simple; the only option is to push forward.

What's encouraging is that you're gaining either quality, quantity, or most likely both in your life.

From age 12 or 13 up until roughly 40, I lifted 5 days each week — I was an athlete and a muscle-head. Now I'm 55. The upside is I already understand training, and I'm counting on muscle memory plus a strong response thanks to knowing my own body. Having the people nearest to me fully supportive and cheering me on would be nice, but it isn't something I require. That said, my best friend of 40yrs is a solid guy who stays right beside me on this and on anything else I need. He's several states away. So I suppose I've got ONE! lol

I gave the impression that my wife isn’t a good wife. That couldn’t be further from reality. As a person and as a wife, she’s wonderful. I don’t look to her to handle everything on my behalf. What matters is recognizing what each person is able to offer and asking accordingly. On this particular journey, what I need simply isn’t something she has, so I’ll travel my own road for my own sake, all while staying by her side.

That's not how I read it.

From what you describe, she seems to prefer a particular order and values her privacy — perhaps she's grieving the meditation space she once had.

Still, not every decision she makes can be wrong; after all, she chose you.. 😛

I understand — it's just about managing the shifts

Nothing new got brought into that room—every single item was already sitting there. Not a single addition came from me. All I did was shift the bench into the center, and it happens to be 6” longer than the previous one. That’s exactly why the whole thing feels so absurd. Put simply, she’s a woman with a fiery streak. I admire that fire, but when it flares up over minor details that do have a logical explanation, it turns into a heavy burden. The amount of room on the pad hasn’t changed at all. Now it just suits the two of us.

I'm also going it alone. Since my wife is disabled, there's not much she can do, yet she never blocks me and happily listens while I ramble about my peptide journey. I've begun sharing with a few people what I'm up to, though I keep those talks surface-level. I'd like to nudge my wife toward considering a glp1, but she already eats very little and swallows a pile of pills every day. There's still a bit of tumor remaining in her spinal cord, so I'm too scared to give her anything that could wake up a dormant tumor. I have a small shed that holds a functional trainer (Planet Fatness), but my treadmill has been the core of my workout routine. Keep grindin man, and stay connected to the folks that are on the same path as you here in the forum.

I'm in the same boat. When it comes to this topic, this community is the only outlet I have.

One small development though: I managed to spark my Dad's curiosity about the Medicare GLP-1 bridge program. With any luck, he'll bring it up with his doctor before long, and then I'll finally have someone in my life who gets it.

Besides my wife, nobody knows I'm using peptides. What I have shared with others is limited to my targets, how I eat, the other supplements I take, and how I train. At times it feels like a small secret I hold back, since I don't want to go through the same explanation again and again about which pep I use and the reason behind it. On top of that, many people see it as "cheating" when you get to your goals. They seem to shrink your progress down until you look weak, or as if the only thing you did was give yourself an injection.

Getting to these changes takes waaaaaaay more than a shot. The shot only provides a bit of help, confidence and strength to keep going. The work still has to be done by us. Nobody can take a shot, keep eating exactly the same food as before and live in exactly the same way as before, and still drop weight, improve flexibility, mobility, strength, mental clarity and focus, etc... Those results come from commitment and hard work!
