hey im a 41yo male who has finally decided to get his life together and start being healthier. Smoking was the habit for over 20 years and it got quit on Oct 11, 2024. 260lbs was the weight then, and after quitting 300lbs got hit.. Sweets have always had a pull on me.. little debbies, mcdonalds, mt dew were the childhood.. lived like that for over 40 years.. late november brought the discovery of low testosterone, so testing for that was underway.

Then thanksgiving '25 arrived and a year smoke free was the marker, testosterone testing and approval were in progress, and giving up the sweets felt like the right time.. over a gallon of sweet tea a day was the intake, multiple little debbies daily, just being a slob.. The start was switching to regular tea while cutting the sweet treats and pop.. then around jan 1st tea got quit for straight water. TRT approval came on jan 7th, so self injections of that got started. while trying to slowly count calories..

A coworker who has been on reta for almost a year was saying how great it was, and since our insurance doesnt cover glp1 except for diabetics, and my A1C is surprisingly only 5.2 even after all the sweets and pop, that was out of the question... so some research got done and he got some for me.. tonight is my 3rd shot, and im getting fuller sooner, somewhat noticeably.. and the food noise isnt as loud.. still there, but not quite what it was..

anyway todays scale was 275.6.. so with sweets cut out, more activity, calories watched and more protein eaten, basically 25lbs has dropped over the last 6-8 months, just from changing habits even before reta really kicks in..

anyway my progress is what I hope to share, and seeing how others sustain the loss even after glp1 meds..
