Hello everyone! I started a glp-1 in 2021. During that first year I dropped 60lbs (my goal), and I’ve kept it off since then. Having battled with losing and keeping off weight my whole life, discovering something that actually works felt like magic.

I had hoped that once in the maintenance phase I could lower my dose, but for me that hasn’t happened—I’ve needed to increase it gradually to keep my appetite under control.

Best wishes to everyone!

Thanks! Never before had I managed to hold at goal weight. With every other attempt at losing weight, the regain would kick in while I was still 10-15 lbs over my goal. My appetite would simply rev up, and no amount of diet or exercise tinkering could produce satiety. Next thing I knew, I was back at my starting weight or above it.

A whole lifetime has gone into counting points, calories, and macros, and none of it got me anywhere. When appetite isn't under control, none of those approaches work or last.

Hey there! Your journey sounds a lot like mine — I can really connect with it! I've dealt with weight issues since I was a little kid, all the way up to the present. Right now I'm taking a short pause, but my plan is to try something beyond sema next. Getting the constant food thoughts quieted down has been such a huge weight off my shoulders. I honestly didn't grasp how intense it was until it eased up, if that comes across clearly. And then there's the sleep eating! I'd wake up in the middle of the night and realize I was partly unconscious and eating! To make a long story short, this is an exciting new path I'm on.

Just wondering — which GLP1 are you on, and which Peptides have your attention right now?

Right now I'm on 2.5mg Sema plus 1 mg Cagri each week. I'm thinking about making the switch to Tirz.

Hearing you bring up sleep eating is wild, since that was something I dealt with too! I can still picture those Jenny Craig days. Only 5lbs stood between me and my goal weight, yet it felt impossible to close that gap. I would wake up needing to pee in the middle of the night, and before I knew it, there I was at the fridge, shoving food in.

Eventually it reached a point where I would literally say a prayer before going to sleep: “dear God, please don’t let me get up and eat!” Looking back it might sound amusing, but it truly wasn’t. The whole thing was deeply upsetting. In the end, I never reached goal. Every pound came back. And then more on top of that. sigh
