I signed up roughly 3 months ago, and honestly, nearly every question I've come up with has been answered by simply reading through old threads and doing a bit of digging. This community is an incredible resource. The willingness of people to share what they know, and the tolerance that's (most of the time....) extended to those who keep asking the same things in slightly different ways, means a lot to me. There are way more people being helped by all of you than you'd probably guess.
Beyond just wanting to really take part, what finally pushed me to write this intro is a situation that isn't mine alone, but also isn't all that typical.
Exercise is off the table for me. It's not that I lack the desire, it's that I've got so many missing and shattered pieces of bone, plus plates, screws, bailing wire, duct tape, prayers, and tidal forces holding a large chunk of me together, that it's genuinely impossible. And nearly every conversation centers on how critical exercise is when you're dropping weight, particularly at this speed. I'm not arguing that point, but it's simply not something available to me. Occasionally someone will post about not wanting to exercise and they get shot down immediately, so finding info on how things beyond just the glp-1s affect a body that's mostly sedentary is a lot harder.
On the basics: male, mid 40s, 6', weighed 190 before the accident, then spent 7 years losing the fight as the number climbed to 230. I've dropped 25lbs in roughly 3 months and I'm aiming for around 160-ish. It's tougher to pin down a healthy goal weight when muscle mass isn't something I can rely on. Right now I'm alternating 3mg Reta and 3mg Tirz every 3 days, and the results have been wonderful.
I recently added KLOW hoping it might dial down inflammation a bit and also ease the unending pain from all these joints grinding together...and it genuinely appears to be helping. The GHK-cu part doesn't concern me much, but overall it looked like a reasonably well studied stack to try, even though I know I should be introducing one thing at a time. I've come across mentions of people offering a blend of just the other 3, but haven't spotted it for sale yet, whereas KLOW is pretty much available everywhere. Still, between the KLOW and losing 25 lbs, I can now manage a single flight of stairs without gripping the hand rail the entire way. I'll gladly take that victory.
